I don't know man sucks, waited all flipping year for this and then we get Kentucky handing us our first loss at home to them in 36 years then watch our team blow a 13 point lead to a first time HC with lesser talent in Arkansas.

I can accept a lot of the ups/downs on defense. Truly I can ya had a new DL coach, 2 new LB coaches, and a DC who is still fairly new. Loads of young and inexperienced players on that side of the ball. But what I don't understand is the offense, we literally returned everyone on the OL a 5th year QB, both our RBs and pulled in our best WR group in Pruitt's time here. All to look like absolute crap.

We've got a QB coach that obviously doesn't do anything to improve his players. How Maurer and JT can't come in and run a series with as much time here as they have is beyond me.

VQ pod sounds like Pruitt has lost the team. It is definitely time to make a change. We’re going to see a mass exodus if we don’t come new transfer rule. And it will be our most talented players transferring out not the interns left overs
What was said on the podcast that led to this conclusion. Not questioning, just curious what the source of the VQ dudes' opinions.

Still looking at the numbers less plays and more yards and points last season...despite how badly we started the year. Something has changed though offensively we all know that, the big question though is what and why? Pruitt says he hasn't seen enough of Bailey, but also doesn't want to put him out there to get any real meaningful snaps. I mean JG is in year 5 they know what he is, and are still willing to trot him out there and limit what he's doing because they don't trust him enough. If that's the case why is he flipping starting? Hell we beat Missouri by a large margin and never gave a series to any other QB. JG played the whole freaking game. Would have been a great time to get Bailey some exposure so the HC would get to see him at least.
Bill Connelly says the #1 factor in production drop off is losing WR production. That might be the simplest answer. I sure know we were waay better on 3rd downs last year, much because JJ and MC were monsters at getting to the sticks and picking them up the last 2 years.

You could even throw in losing DWA and Pope too. Our TEs went from ok to just nothing at all.

I am almost completely out on JP, but am realistic (did I really just type that?) enough to realize we are not going to change anything in time to get Freeze here. No way it happens before the end of next year. Even if we go 2-8, Pruitt is still here for 2021 unless he grows a pair and resigns.

I think its a bit of an overreaction, but they were talking about Beckwith and his tweet. Basically saying he was a higher rated guy than Small and had been told ( im guessing assumption im not sure) he would get some PT this year. Now he hasn't and he seems frustrated judging by his tweet. It could cause him and others to look around when the one time transfer rule is past.

@phillipfulmer if you hire Reverend Freeze I’ll immediately buy season tickets to football, basketball, baseball, softball, golf, jiu jitsu, and whatever else we have.

Pinky promise.
Dead serious...if he hired Freeze, @InVOLuntary, @volatil, @Sugaray13, and I would buy 4 season tickets for next season immediately!! Amirite, guys?

If Chaney is moving on after this season then I would definitely call Brandon Streeter. He is the Passing Coordinator/QB coach at Clemson. He has worked with Lawrence, DJ, and all their other QB's since 2014. He is a terrific recruiter, had the role of Recruiting Coordinator, and he is their point person for recruiting Ty Simpson. He is making around $450K so we could double his salary and make him OC to transform the offense to what he wants to do.

I would think if anyone would need to grow a pair it’s the university and AD. They see it’s a dead end. Blow out loss after blow out loss. Horrible player management. Atrocious offense. Horrid defense. The only thing saving him imo is the recruiting class. It’s stuck together “for now” if we were really struggling there he’d be out the door by year end.

Unless they change the 25 initial counter rule (and I don’t think they will), then this “mass exodus” is a figment. There will be significant isolated losses, but not even Florida will go full transfer.

If we were throwing more often early in the game I'd probably agree. But we didn't even have 10 attempts against Arkansas until well into the 2nd half. Ya can't expect production from a group you're giving no opportunities to produce to. I think losing DWA & Pope though is for sure a bigger issue than realized, not to mention we also lost Jackson Lowe to transfer before the season started. Who knows how good he would have been here, but he was entering year 2 and is the highest ranked true freshman TE we've brought in since Helm in 2014.

His name was mentioned in the previous OC search...he indicated no interest.

While that would be awesome, I believe teams have gone after him before to no avail. I think he's drinking the koolaid. Those coaches seem to love working for Dabo. Not sure either OC or Venables is ever leaving.

And I volunteer @volatil to pay our donation!

Lol that's bullsh!t, they act like they're the only one dealing with covid.

Boy we are like a group of crazed dogs around here.

My interpretation of that “quote” is that covid has made this team closer as unit because they had to ban together to get thru the Covid issues. I don’t see an excuse at all in fact I see the opposite

Was talking more general YoY results. Arky was definitely a different gameplan, for sure. All in all, we are passing the ~same number of times as last season (27.2 vs 27.7 attempts/game).

We also broke a handful of long runs last year...0 runs over 30 yards so far this season 🤮
