Rob Lews hyped up the basket Vols a little bit at the end of the pod cast. He said 12 is too low and they should be a top 10 team. He also said the talk on campus about Keon Johnson is some of the most positive he's ever heard about a kid.
good news about that is they'll get plenty of opportunity to prove where they belong....the SEC in general should be pretty interesting on the court this season. several good teams again....

Yep and games against Gonzaga and ND. Going on a little bit he said Vescovi is probably most improved. JJJ looks a lot better. Jaden has met the hype and Keon has exceed it.

Yeah, basketVOLs are going to have a solid season.

That's one example of "everyone pulling the same direction" Jalen moved on which allowed the program to pull in another big who can help immediately in EJ Anosike. You also have JJJ & Santi both in year 2 after gaining a ton of experience as freshmen. Add in Bailey now eligible after getting a full season to sit and learn as a transfer, and with some COVID related stuff he spent a ton of time at PG this off-season to help his game even more.

And I think Barnes (unlike Pruitt) will take full advantage of this year not counting towards eligibility. So some guys that may have otherwise been asked to Redshirt (Gaines, Walker Jr., Pember) will still get some opportunities this season to play and get more court time.

I don't know how to bring it over, but it's been posted in the FF.
First post quoted below, if ya click the name of the poster it'd take you to the thread.
Listening to some none state run radio this morning, according to them this article really sheds some light about whats going on this year. Something along the lines of letting "fake" leaders lead the team vs the actual leaders of the team.
Nyles Gaddy exit interview: The transfer LB on what's going wrong at Tennessee

Anyone with the Athletic care to paraphrase the Nyles Gaddy exit interview?
I’d say the seniors. Like last year, when the coaching went bad, when everything went bad, when we didn’t have the record we were looking for, it caught us all off guard. We were thinking the same thing the fans were thinking. We’re thinking we were fixing to go in there, we’ve been grinding all these months for this. It’s the seniors’ time now. They gotta get our head right.
Last year, the seniors stepped up. Darrell Taylor, Daniel Bituli, Nigel Warrior, all those guys stepped up and put the team on their back and they became playmakers. They took the game into their own hands.

Florida fired a coach halfway through his third year after he won the East in each of his first two seasons. They had a coach they wanted and they went out and got him and now they are title contenders. Tennessee, however, sits on their hands hoping things will work out.
We should do the same. We should go get Freeze now. He would take the job.

Sucks that Ansley is a bad playcaller. Seems like Pruitt needs to call the defense, but he’s also got his hand deep in the offense.

Now he’s coaching DL too? This is pretty obvious that Pruitt is a control freak and thinks he needs to be involved everywhere. Wrong mentality for a HC if ya ask me.

But, what did the offense look like before Pruitt's alleged involvement? Wouldn't we be mad if the offense sucked but the head coach didn't try to interject somehow?

I think Pruitt's appointments following the initial staff have been poor, sadly. And it has not been due to lack of money to throw at the problem.

What we’ve all got to realize is either something is broken at UT, OR the last 15 years are truly representative of what this program is.

We’ve been through enough athletic directors, Presidents, head coaches, coordinators, and boosters to finally understand that it’s bigger than any one person or a group of people.

Maybe we’re just a middling football program now and there’s no legitimate way out. I don’t know.
If true, it’s sad and demoralizing. Our fanbase deserves better.

Not sure what can be done on defense when you whiff on every pass rusher you target in recruiting.

This is going to sound crazy - but if USCj fires Muschamp & Co I could definitely see Pruitt hiring Muschamp and Bobo. They're friends, Friend and Bobo were together at Colorado State, Muschamp's nephew is already on staff at UT.

This idea is not my own - Dan Harrelson published an article that mentioned it on VolsWire.
