What an indictment. IMO it suggests that he's quite likely to give up, or maybe has already given up. He probably didn't really want to coach TN in the first place but didn't want to turn down the money or opportunity. Now he has realized he's in over his head and is probably okay with getting fired. Maybe he will throw the rest of the season to avoid 2021 and end up doing us a favor.
How is intentionally tanking our program then working for Bama while getting paid by us doing us any kind of favor?

If he has indeed said what has been suggested, he should resign, and forfeit any buyout. Won't happen, but IMO, we should be allowed to fire him with cause if he's telling people that.

That’s why I don’t believe him. Anybody who chooses to I can’t really blame...but something’s fishy.

So....Hubbs is being used as the AD mouthpiece to sow seeds of discontent against the sitting HC? Seems like CJP doing a good job of that on his own. I agree the quote is included there intentionally, but I'm not sure as to why.

We could lose every game the rest of this season. Pruitt will remain coach. He will be judged next year. Fulmer tends to be more conservative in my opinion to hang onto coaches, makes me think that Pruitt will coach out his remaining 2 years.
He just signed a contract extension---I believe he's got 5 years left now.

If you don't think every big time athletic department doesn't have to put up with politics, you are fooling yourself. Crazy how it doesn't seem to affect the basketball program. Maybe because we actually have a legitimate coach over there. Baseball program is slowly but surely growing. hmmm....

I didn't say it was an Ivy League School, but it's much tougher now than just 15 years ago. There has been vast improvement, but I agree it doesn't have to effect sports. But you guys can get in your laughs.
My buddy transferred from a college in Kentucky to UT and his GPA was a 1.9.

That's dead man walking stuff right there. You tell the people you hired and those around the program that if it doesn't work out you can go back to Bama and you are the Tennessee head coach? Add in you are three years in and you have no leaders to replace guys like JJ and Warrior. You fire an assistant coach after 4 games and don't have a replacement other than yourself. To go with 88-7 in the last four second halves - so zero ability to make adjustments at halftime.

Have some pride, UTAD. Fire this clown.
Say it louder for the people, and especially all the bigwig boosters and gutless administration, in the back!!!

And has been since Joe Johnson retired along with Doug Dickey.
Especially Dickey. People don't understand the power and influence he had, and therefore the AD had, that was lost when Hamilton took over.

Basketball doesn't need nearly as many resources. Also plenty of small schools out there have thriving basketball programs on shoestring budgets.

IF he had actually heard something like this, he would’ve relayed it to Fulmer. If Fulmer had that knowledge, he doesn’t give him the extension.

we're paying our basketball coach more than our football coach. Seems to me the university isn't as "cheap" as what several people claim. This idea that academics is holding back the football program is a weak excuse. I've heard it several times over the years. I'm sure it certainly makes things difficult, but it isn't what is handicapping this program.

The money spent on the basketball program is relatively small compared to the amount spent on football.

Agreed. But it's only relative if you compare their respective revenue as well. I would like to look at an analysis between them.

That's one coach. Do you realize how many support staff football has, not to mention having 3x as many coaches.

Damn, this has been hard to read, or stomach rather!!
Can’t believe UT football is in this position again?! I’ve thought since game 4, coaches and players have visibly checked out. Complete emotionless games.
I’m about the only Vol fan in my area of WV, and it’s getting harder and harder to keep answering the question “what happened to your VOLS this weekend...”?🤦‍♂️
