Recruiting Forum Football Talk II

He's saying neither of those two would ever consider us because our administration is a **** show that doesn't support football. It's not all on the boosters. Apparently the academic side does not want to be known as a football school and is okay with killing the cash cow. For people that are supposed to be smart, they're fairly stupid. And not the first time I've heard this was a problem. There is a resentment toward football from certain professors and administrators. I heard this was a problem a couple of searches back, and thought WTF??! So AV is confirming something I've actually heard before.

Does that make me an insider now? lol

My freshman year in 2012 my friend on the lady vols staff said something similar about academics. He said Big Jim wanted us to be like UVA. I understood the post, mostly. Just making a joke that they’re fighting over the wrong things here lmao.

People also forget we have extremely different dynamics at UT than at most other SEC schools. Donor in fighting....administration not wanting athletics to drive conversations on decisions...Academics that would rather see our football team fail than succeed......AD that only has partial internal support...A head coach that really has not been given everything he has asked for....an AD that likes to control things way more than people know...I could go on and on.

But until everyone at UT is on the same page and wanting the same goals...it DOESNT MATTER WHO YOU BRING IN....you will still have these same issues. The big names are also fully aware of these dynamics at UT hence why we don’t have big name coaches knocking at our door to come here when the job opens up.

How absolutely pathetic. None of that changes the fact that Pruitt has failed, however.

I'm sure many academics hate the football programs at the large football factories. Nevertheless, under the current USN&WR rankings:
  • #19 - Notre Dame
  • #30 - Florida
  • #47 - UGA
  • #74 - Clemson
  • #112 - Tennessee

What's Fulmer and Pruitt relationship like?
Does Fulmer get in Pruitt way a lot?

Other schools don't have their academic side actively knee-capping athletics.

We’d have to get into politics but it’s not about trials...it’s distribution. If there’s no DELAY then it’s a matter of a few months. I don’t think anybody subscribes to a spring season no matter what.
Idk was just an idea. Id rather get this season finished, but if safety is an issue then it needs to be cancelled

Buddy this isn’t Yale or Harvard. If they want to make it that it’s not going to happen. It’s a public university in a state that ranks bottom half in education. Some brilliant people have come through there but it’s not a prestigious worldwide or even national academic institution. You say UT and first thing 99% of people think of is “orange” and “football”.

Yea, because that's exactly what I (didn't) say. You said "retards" get in at UT. Have fun. I'm out.

Specify the fiction in this exchange. I put valid numbers up in response to you pulling “100% better” out ya azz. I’ll let the rest of your zany post speak for itself.
'zany post'? lmao you're talking about kittens, slurp troughs, and your testicles draining. Careful now. One might mistake you for projecting!

78% acceptance rate. Read something saying we’re the 32nd lowest acceptance rate in the state. I guess we just have a low total number of applicants and they’re all highly qualified right?

finally caught up.

Based on what Pruitt said about going back to Bama, true or not, there's smoke there... so GTFO... seriously. You can see it in how he is coaching(or not) this season compared to last season. He had fire and determination last season. This year he is sleep-walking, pissing everyone off, not playing talent, firing coaches... he doesn't want to be here anymore. Be a F'n man and just resign so this program and fanbase can move on and get someone else.

Fulmer--- definitely dropped some rungs on the respect ladder with him reading all of this... he can go as well.

As long as there is so much drama and chaos within the Admin , Academics, Athletics, and boosters, we will NEVER be great or elite. NEVER.

Any ex-athlete with a pulse can see this team is divided and not playing as one. They are going through the motions. Zero fire. The coaching staff is coaching to not get blown out, conservative, and almost seemingly want to lose. When we get behind, we don't even try to catch back up... look at the damn plays called. A first or maybe even a second year Pruitt would hopefully have had a team meeting and gotten the team back on track... clearly he hasn't. Which means he doesn't care. A coach that wanted to be here, that wanted to win, that wanted to lift this program would be vocal and doing everything he could and play everyone he could to get a spark and a win... Pruitt hasn't done any of that. He's quit.

When you take a step back and digest all of this, It's really obvious that we have a coach walking through the season who is not vested in the program and would rather be somewhere else. So everyone suffers. That is extremely selfish when you think about the kids on the team who committed on what he said and the staff and families that are there because of what he sold. ..... Selfish. ...................... unless I see a team meeting and a change from Pruitt, he can go F himself. We are not that stupid and blind.

I couldn’t disagree more on Pruitt getting what he wants. We designed the weight room for his his S&C coach. He has more staffers than Dooley and Butch. He has had numerous assistant coaches who got massive raises when they came here. And he was allowed to fire a coach mid season after only a few months on the job and cost us a million dollars. Fact is Pruitt is in over his head. Hire a proven coach and watch how all politics seem to go away.

Pruitt has more resources than all but maybe 5 head coaches in America.
