Chaney must gtfo at minimum but still Hugh Freeze or bust. Also how do we expect any good assistants to come here? They would be signing up to coach for a failing head coach who won’t be here any longer than one season. We sierously are the browns of college football. We have Hugh lined up. Ready to roll. PRUITT WILL HAVE 3 new staffs in 3 years.... this is a major red flag. No coach will want to work with him.

Whats going to end up happening is South Carolina hires Freeze. Tennessee waits and Pruitt gets fired or leaves on his own and there is nobody to hire but another up and comer

Everyone needs to accept this. You could insert a few names other than USC but he’ll be somewhere winning games other than Liberty soon.

What about Freeze? If he wanted to come here would we hire him? A proven winner

I think the point is it literally doesn't matter who you bring in. Saban even...until everybody is pointing the same direction it is destined to fail.

Pruitt getting blown out constantly should’ve been the biggest red flag.

Year 1 against Florida was the most unprepared team I have ever seen and we got our teeth kicked in. I knew he was crap then bc Butch Jones never sent a team out that bad even. Florida was not all that great then either.

It’s such bs too. All we heard when Fulmer took over was “faith is restored rejoice!” And now this. So dumb. Pruitts been given a heck of a lot more than any coach and he flat out sucks. Idk why the academics even get a freaking say. They should go work at Vanderbilt. They let retards into the university of Tennessee this isn’t Yale.

Just spouting off what you don't know. I don't like the academic side having that much influence, but your last statement is just ridiculous. Carry on.

This is just depressing.... so many egotistical maniac ruining so many fans and players hope. Sports isn’t everything but a lot of people love and get enjoyment out of UT football and they consistently make it a miserable experience for all involved. Idk why it’s so hard to hire a proven winner who is sitting right in front of you ready to get back into big time football. He’s messed up but he would probably work harder than he ever has to get that second chance.

Could the donors fight over whether to hire Meyer or Bob Stoops as HC rather than fight over Doeren or Mike Bobo? Is that possible?
He's saying neither of those two would ever consider us because our administration is a **** show that doesn't support football. It's not all on the boosters. Apparently the academic side does not want to be known as a football school and is okay with killing the cash cow. For people that are supposed to be smart, they're fairly stupid. And not the first time I've heard this was a problem. There is a resentment toward football from certain professors and administrators. I heard this was a problem a couple of searches back, and thought WTF??! So AV is confirming something I've actually heard before.

Does that make me an insider now? lol

I think there are a few of us who need to see some progress before we are willing to continue supporting and I am ok with it. JP got a lot pulling in the same direction...but not all. And where the program was/is...we need ALL imo
I understand that these are all factors in why the program isn't where we were in the 90's, but unity among the BMD's and egghead academics who hate athletics didn't make the call to go for it on 4th down with a freshman QB throwing his first pass when you are down by two scores. They didn't roll out the incompetent 5th year senior QB that everyone knows is a stiff, they aren't the reason we don't have a better option to start at QB, or won't play the one player who might be. We have top-15 talent according to the 247 talent composite, and we are getting the brakes beat off of us by friggin' Kentucky and Arkansas. The Grand Alignment argument only can excuse so much.

Freeze gets hired by another program in the offseason. We roll with Pruitt for another year. Like it or not if Pruitt has an 7 or 8 win season next year he gets another extension.

I think you know more than most but there’s 0 chance Pruitt would get an extension. There’s also 0 chance he wins 8 games.

Buddy this isn’t Yale or Harvard. If they want to make it that it’s not going to happen. It’s a public university in a state that ranks bottom half in education. Some brilliant people have come through there but it’s not a prestigious worldwide or even national academic institution. You say UT and first thing 99% of people think of is “orange” and “football”.

People also forget we have extremely different dynamics at UT than at most other SEC schools. Donor in fighting....administration not wanting athletics to drive conversations on decisions...Academics that would rather see our football team fail than succeed......AD that only has partial internal support...A head coach that really has not been given everything he has asked for....an AD that likes to control things way more than people know...I could go on and on.

But until everyone at UT is on the same page and wanting the same goals...it DOESNT MATTER WHO YOU BRING IN....you will still have these same issues. The big names are also fully aware of these dynamics at UT hence why we don’t have big name coaches knocking at our door to come here when the job opens up.
I couldn’t disagree more on Pruitt getting what he wants. We designed the weight room for his his S&C coach. He has more staffers than Dooley and Butch. He has had numerous assistant coaches who got massive raises when they came here. And he was allowed to fire a coach mid season after only a few months on the job and cost us a million dollars. Fact is Pruitt is in over his head. Hire a proven coach and watch how all politics seem to go away.
