Where else in the country do the bigger, faster, stronger, more talented players sit on the bench? By coddling our underwhelming JR's and SR's we could lose our freshmen to transfer who were brought in and promised playing time to turn this thing around. We have a talented class put together but if they see that if we struggle at certain positions and freshmen don't get a chance they won't sign here.

HB should get every snap the rest of the season. I hate it for JG he has given his all for TN, but his all is just not that good. Shrout and Maurer have no chance whether it be talent or coaching.

Some guys just aren't meant to be in charge. I think that is Pruitt hes a good coach but he doesn't have it to be the head man.

exactly. one problem we do have, as fans, is we worrry way to much about what UF, UGA, Bama do. and not near enough on just Tennesse, in terms of where we were, where we are, and where we're going.

the measuring stick we use today is simply not realistic. we're no where close to those programs. haven't been, still aren't.

i don't think Pruitt is gonna get it done here, and it keeps getting harder as time marches on....nothing really changes as far as the product on the field is concerned. and with the direction of the program being what it is right now, it makes "the sell" a lot harder.......thus making the rebuild even slooooooower........................

but, if he is gonna get it done here, it's gonna be the long game.....it may be the 22/23 season before we get there, or just get close.

anyway.............it doesn't really matter right now....there is NO WAY we ever hire Hugh Freeze as the head coach. definitley not with Fulmer at the helm.....and that's not a slight on Fulmer, it's just not in him to make that kind of hire.

i think Fulmer is a short timer, and i don't see him making that kind of call and walking away for someone else to take over. i also don't see a head coach like that necessarily wanting to take over a program that's in dumpster fire #4, knowing the AD that is hiring you may only be around for another year or 2.

so we're once again in that funky "timing is everything" era. we didn't fire Jones after the 2016 season cause the administration was so in flux. and we're in that window of time agian with questions on Fulmer and just how long is he gonna be around? in the end, what it will amount to is indecision and hope that pruitt figures it out.....

I still can't get over extending him before the season. Didn't get what that was supposed to accomplish, other than bind us to him further if things went south. If things went well we still could have extended him postseason.

I got torched on here for suggesting that raise and extension was idiotic. Now none of us are laughing.

There are only two options. Hire Freeze or stick with Pruitt. Firing Pruitt and starting over with coach McGoogle would only be worse. I don't want to start over again with a guy who will just be fired in 3 years. I want a proven winner or give Pruitt the Stoops treatment and maybe by year 6 he has it figured out lol

My point was the state the program was in when Butch left. I wasn't comparing recruiting. Butch lit us on fire, fired up his Mercedes, flipped us the bird and headed out of town

freeze is probably telling anyone that'll half way listen that he wants to be there....

that has more to do with getting out of Liberty than the next destination. i'm sure USCe or Auburn or any SEC school not named Vanderbilt would be a job he wants.

so i don't buy all this "he wants this job" and if we don't get him, we've screwed up.....

the only way that could come to fruition is if we did fire pruitt and targeted and hired someone else. til then, just shock jock crap.

Exactly. Freeze is the only answer. And he would take it. I don't want LA tech's head coach or another coordinator learning on the job. There is a proven, elite, head coach available. And we won't hire him.

yup.

but what will probably happen is we hang to Pruitt, Feeze gets hired somehwere helse, and we'll get coach McGoogle in 2 years.
