Pruitt keeps his job if...

Do you realize that the Vols were prevented from having spring practice while several of their opponents got theirs completed prior to being stopped because of the virus. Do you also realize that of the 10 teams on the UT schedule several were rated in the top 10 and others were in the top 25. With the poor situation that Dooley and Jones left the UT program it was in the worst shape in the last 35 years. It required a total rebuild that would take 5 years before any progress was really made...look how long it took Clemson to rebuild and where they are now. The absolute worse thing that could happen now would be a coaching change. Pruitt is slowly adding players of SEC caliber...Jone left him with no speed and only one lineman above 300 pounds. The schedule change to all 10 SEC teams worsened chances of having a 7 - 5 winning record. Let's support Coach Pruitt...he will get us competitive again. Remember he has to play Georgia, Florida and Alabama every year. Eventually, we will get competitive with them again.
This is madness, the same speech is nice but a bad coach is bad coach. The rest is noise.

Georgia State...BYU... Vanderbilt... Kentucky.... Arkansas..... Am I missing anymore scrubs we have lost to under Pruitt? We have had the better talent than all of those.... Its beyond embarrassing... We can make excuses changing coaches isn't good but keeping one that sucks isn't the answer either.... Start the search

Who blew him out at home in his 3rd year?
That was his only "losing" season sure but he didn't get blown out
Had winning seasons before that and no embarrassing losses

But yeah same thing
Took him 5 years - right

Seems to me you have to fire FULMER before you fire Pruitt, unless a search firm is hired to help identify a PROVEN coach the boosters agree would resolve the issues.

The only realistic scenario where he could lose his job this season is if we lose every game. I just don’t see us getting rid of Pruitt. Play Harrison Bailey and the outcome may be different and the fans will feel like we are making some progress in developing our future.

I have been with Pruitt the entire time and thinks he deserves one more year. That being said:

1. Defense is unable to make big plays (create turnovers), and this is his specialty. Unacceptable.
2. Staff is unable to make needed adjustments at halftime. Unacceptable.
3. Unable to develop QB of the future. GA is playing Mathis & Clemson is riding true frosh QB (almost won at ND).
Conclusion:
This season:
A. Pruitt better ride w/ the only QB who can see field & attack D between #'s
Off-Season:
B. Make wholesale changes with his staff.

We had to get this right this last time by hiring a proven coach. It looks like we totally whiffed again on Pruitt. Fulmer cannot be allowed to hire the next coach. He has proved he is not the man for the job. I don’t care how much he loves UT he is incompetent. Time to retire for good.

Pruitt keeps his job if he wins out. Otherwise I think he needs to go. The probability of him winning out is about 0% chance. Even coaches like muschamp and McElwain at Florida still won games they were supposed to most of the time. So what keeps Pruitt’s job 3-7 with a VANDY win? I say nah, the writing is on the wall, gotta move on.
Wins out? Are you high?

Do you realize that none of your excuses are valid reasons we lost to UK, Ark, who hadn’t won a conference game in 2 years, with a 1st year coach, and the team can’t seem to play like a SEC team ever!
Give a bad coach 10 years and he will still be a bad coach.

It's not at the same level as to what Tennessee is experiencing, however as a Gator fan, I went through some of this crap too.

From 2010-2017, the most TD passes a Florida QB had in a season was 12.

In walks Dan Mullen and Feliepe Franks had 24 in 2018.

When you are dealing with ineptitude of this magnitude, it's all coaching. All of it. Talent is the reason why you can't win a championship yet.

Coaching is why you have 42 passing yards combined on 5-12 passing from the first two QB's to get playing time against mighty Arkansas.

Dabo won the ACC in his 3rd full year at Clemson. Hugh Freeze is 6-0 at Liberty. Arkansas just beat us with a 1st year head coach and our best players the past three years have actually been Butch’s players.

Stop with the excuses.

0% chance Pruitt gets fired this year. So he basically has the rest of this year and next season to right the ship. If he doesn't, he's gone.

IT is not going to improve and we need to remove fulmer and pruitt immediately.
I don’t think you fire fulmer if he is able to swallow his pride admit to a mistake and get a coach in freeze or someone of his caliber lined up by the end of the year. I will give Pruitt credit that he has revamped the talent and roster for Tennessee so a quality coach could come in and actually develop the kids into a good team.

Pruitt sucks. We could go into more detail and break things down but why bother? There’s zero way in hell this team can beat Florida with him as the head coach.

I completely and totally agree. However IF we don’t have the resources to make a proper run at a real coach then I’m fine with waiting a little longer. Pruitt is a disaster but we’ve went from one disaster to another.
