I know JG has hindered the offense to an extent but man....this offense is not creative at all.....we don't use our TEs in the passing game. I just get the feeling that Chaney is to blame some but I think Pruitt tries to put his hands on the offense too much just like he did with Helton.

He said that??? If so, I really hope he gets canned. Bailey looked the best, hands down, the INT’s he had weren’t his fault. The first was pass interference and well the 2nd, he had to try and get something done with no time.

The kid better start from here on out

I missed it. What did he say about Bailey

Meanwhile that Indiana coach is undefeated right now, in year 5. Didn’t have a winning season until year 4.

I don’t know, I wanna trust the process. I definitely think 8-5 last season was a fluke though. The contributions we had from seniors was grossly under appreciated by the fans. People acting like Nigel was a terrible safety and now our secondary can’t stop anyone...

Next year is going to be make or break, I definitely think Fulmer sees something in Pruitt. But if he (JP) is the guy hamstringing our offense to this level of predictability then someone needs to have a come to Jesus with him. Ya don’t pay big bucks to an OC that you handcuff, either let Chaney run the show or pay someone less who will call the boring ass offense you want.

I think it’s probably Tee.

We’re going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel on outside hires at this point. Might as well give Tee a shot.
This would keep VFLs happy and probably get some fans back in too. I’m not sure he is ready, but everyone wanted Tee to be hired before so it would make a lot of people happy. I think you go ahead and fire Pruitt now and let Tee almost have a trial run the rest of the year.

We could double his salary and give him money to hire any assistants he wants. It has not changed that much. Our expectations have since our administration has been terrible at hiring coaches. Coaches want to win national championships and lower level schools do not have a chance at that. Plus, if you do well at UT, you could make it to the NFL. We haven’t seen that but many have aspirations to go to the NFL.

Freeze would be the only guy that would fit your criteria. We aren’t hiring a guy currently at a P5 school and in the top 25. It’s either at a school that has underachieved or a G5 coach. Not sure why people don’t get this year after year. It’s happened in basketball too. For years, people thought we could hire Jay Wright. Doesn’t work that way.

Pruitt is exactly correct on Bailey. He kept throwing the check down which is exactly what Arkansas wanted.

it’s Comical how we have posters saying he looked poised when he was in fact playing dumb football. Now i am not saying his mistakes somehow mean he can’t be good but those decisions were far from poised. They were mistakes
He still got in position for the field goal and short thro for a possible tying TD. Should have been pi on the first int.

Agree with you on all this. I’m fine to let the process play out. I think Pruitt has been changing/improving the talent and the S&C and those things are most important.

But, like you said, the assistant coaching issues are a clear sign something isn’t right with the head coach.

As I’ve said before, I think we’ve got Muschamp as our HC. Now, what will remain to be seen is how much time we give him and if he can get out of his own way. Muschamp hasn’t been able to do that so far. Pruitt might.

I don’t think we’re doomed just yet under Pruitt. But I honestly don’t know what Fulmer and the program expects this place to be anymore either.

Then there’s a bunch of dumb VFLs.

Tee literally had play calling duties taken away at USC no more than 3 years ago.

And now we should hand him the keys to a SEC program?

No one thinks Chaney would be offered?

Chaney moves to HC and ya promote Tee to OC/QBs coach, keep coach O as well maybe?

I’m out on Friend & Weinke completely at this point. Plenty of talent and they can’t seem to develop anyone.

We have one of the best O lines in the country, solid RB and solid wr’s and we are wasting it.
No doubt. My point is the route concepts and run designs are too basic and SEC defenses have no problem scheming against us. Once a Defense makes a couple of adjustments we can't or don't readjust.

Lack of offense definitely falls on Pruitt in my opinion. It seems like he wants his offense to not turn the ball over and keep everything manageable. He just hasn't caught on yet (maybe never will) that this type of offense will not win you games in the SEC consistently.

There's so much to say and yet, nothing really to say, same ole BS... this coach is not the answer, and we've slowly been seeing/realizing this as the season progresses, with last night being the breaking point. We are in year 3 again, yet we are regressing in just about every position group.

The amount of reps these "young" kids have gotten from last year to now should have them properly developed and locked and loaded, improving each game. Yet they are worse than when the season started. Poor to Zero development is 100% on coaches. Our QB coach shouldn't even be allowed to coach another day here, much less high school. We have 4 scholarship QB's, 3* and up who look like they've never even started a high school game, much less are able to run a Div-1 offense. HOW? There are 50 QB's out there right now that were ranked lower and playing at lesser programs who could WAX and embarrass our QB room... Kyle Trask was a 3*...

Chaney coaches scared and is either being told to give up or is doing it himself. That play calling last night was pathetic. He made no effort to open it up when we had nothing to lose and give us a chance to score. Running up the middle every play is a defeatist attitude and a quitters mentality. So whoever made the decision last night should be let go. I won't support a team of quitters in any way shape or form.

The word "SLANT" must be a word that is not allowed on UT's campus. We have never been able to defend against this basic play, and sure as hell have never run it... unacceptable.

I hate it for the kids who seem to have the right attitude and tons of talent/upside, but once again it is being wasted.

At this point I really don't care who we get, yep I don't care, but we need to get someone else in here to salvage the talent we still have on this roster. I seriously am nauseous to say, we can't do any worse. I really thought this guy was the answer.

Recruiting is about to go off the cliff, brace yourselves.

Yep, the turnover in staff by Pruitt is that big red flag right now.

Tyson Helton - Gone
Kevin Sherrer - Gone
Chris Rumph - Gone
Tracy Rocker - Gone
Charles Kelly - Gone
Terry Fair - Gone
Craig Fitzgerald - Gone
David Johnson - Gone
Jimmy Brumbaugh - Gone

In just 31 games he’s replaced 9 coaches...😳

Still think we wont see a change until seasons end. Chaney's inability to make even one percentage point difference, as well as lack of developing back up QB is teling. Most logical way to free up $ for DL, OL, and new, younger OC.
