They are starting JG after the bye... (this week's depth chart)

As others have said, this is the same depth chart we've used all week. If we do indeed make a change, why announce it now and let Arkansas prepare for it? I think it is gamesmanship personally. I watched the press conference a few minutes ago and he specifically avoided talking about any of the QBs at all. I'm inclined to believe there's a reason.

I don't trust Will Friend and our OL....

Yeah, I'm pretty miffed by the OL play.

DL needs to get more pressure and execute getting to the QB better. But, the OL, with those bodies... I just can't see why the QB has no time to let a play/routes develop or throw the ball. Just seems something's not clicking with the instruction to them.

All Tennessee sports media said on sports animal that BJ in year 3 is better then JP. He'll be here for 5 years minimum. Let's hope he becomes a good head coach, it doesn't look good at this point. I just wonder how the apologist will defend him when we only beat vandy the rest of the season, or God forbid, if we lose all of the games.

The depth chart means absolutely nothing. I don't think they change it for anything other than eligibility/ long term injuries.

With that said, JG is going to start. None of the numb nuts in the press conference asked him that point blank, but it is pretty obviously true.

It’s a football message board. What would you rather us talk about? No one said it was more important than our job/kids . Nothing wrong with people being angry on not getting an even marginal return on their time/ money investment. This football program is a national joke, those who aren’t outraged aren’t really paying attention.

This guy probably was a Guarantano apologist for years and rather than being a man and saying well I was wrong sorry my opinion cost the Vols games—he’s gonna try to act like nothing matters.

That’s a coward.

I know about the depth chart, but Hyatt is our best playmaker on the outside. He should be on the depth chart as a starter
Right over your head. Hyatt is going to play the same amount of snaps regardless if he is on the depth chart. The chart is meaningless for who will get to play. It’s generic , and has little value if any. They are simply not interested in changing the chart for several reasons. Banks is on the chart and he is injured.

I don't think they're better, that's the thing. They're even more limited than JG. From a outside perspective and that's all it is, JG struggles with touch passes and to me that limits what you can do way too much. I would start him again this week and give him a short leash...
And you would know this how? Because of all the playing time the others have gotten and showed they couldn't do better? You would keep starting a QB in his 5th year on campus that has proven he is not starting material? You do not rebuild programs for the future by doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Building for the future and starting a 5th year QB who has a losing record is an oxymoron in itself. It makes literally no sense. Losing with QB's who are going to be in the program 3-4 more years makes a hell of a lot more sense than losing with one who is in his 5th year and gives you less than a 50% chance of winning before you even step on the field.

Don't hate on the apologists. I'd love to date a girl that was flexible enough to do some of the mental gymnastics those apologists do....

I'm guessing he hasn't been on it all year but he's played in every game I believe..

Like I said, I understand the depth chart....my goodness, it's not over anyone's head. Did you play a sport at the collegiate level? If you did, then you would know it matters to many of the players because it's usually posted each week. For many guys who have been performing well, it gives them a boost of confidence going into the next game

Seems like I've seen a few weeks in a row that they are rolling out the same depth chart because they don't want to tip their hand, then the same exact listing on the depth chart is how the team takes the field.
