What has happened to Jim Chaney? He is considered one of the best minds in college football, yet we have shown no pizzaz and not much effort. How about becoming less predictable - if I can guess the play from the formation 50% of the time, other D coaches can get it 80% . Why not let this Hyatt kid play more? He doesnt need to know the offense that well to run a post or fly pattern . Even if he misses a few, his speed will scare the defense and stretch the field opening up the shorter routes . Where has he been all year and what are we saving him for-Vandy? How about some reverses and double passes? Liven it up - u get paid a lot of bucks-get creative. This whole team , offense and defense is worse than last year. No way we should get blown out like the last 3 games,



It is puzzling and frustrating . I just dont get it...

I thought that we would at least see a greater variety of formations. We still hardly ever run the ball out of Iform unless it’s a sneak. But yeah, very predictable offense. Until we can figure it out and keep the defense guessing, they will continue to stack the box and force JG to predictably throw. We just have to hope our receivers can win the 50-50 battles bc that’s about all he can throw. I think we need to utilize the tight ends more.

Chaney has never impressed me much. When he has superior talent he looks like an innovator, as almost any OC would. When he doesn’t, and calls a 25 yard out pattern on 3rd and 2, he looks like a moron. He’s looking pretty moronic these days.

Chaney is the Offensive version of Chavis to me. A great coach when he has great talent and was an elite coach at one point, but tends to choke in big moments and has had the game pass him by somewhat. I mean, UT could certainly do worse.

He has "no pizzazz" at QB to work with.... I feel the remainder of the team is somewhat going through the motions (whether they realize it or not). The really display their true feeling after "pizzazzless" JG screws up, whether its in the first series or later.

I love those long pass attempts on 3rd and short.......simply brilliant play calling.

You need a qb that can read a defense and make an accurate pass. Chaney is having to gameplan around JG. That's why our wr run a bunch of out routes or short routes and we rarely pass over the middle beyond 3-4 yards.

Vol players are not executing, that’s the problem, not everything is JG’s fault, nor Jim Chaney’s

There are receivers running wide open on every play. Receivers run long routes on 3rd and short to clear out the underneath. Most of you that post about Chaney should stick to just watching, your comments are stupid and I’m return make you look stupid. If you don’t understand don’t comment. QB is our issue on offense. It starts and ends there.

Its easy, when he is forced to play a sorry QB, his offenses suffer.

Good OCs play to the strength of their team.

Its time to turn the page on Chaney and give someone else an opportunity to call the offense.
