Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Save this piece of stupidity for 3 months from now because I guarantee you they are wrong. The MSM has really cranked up the fear machine here right before the election. I’m completely shocked. No, really, I am. Totally shocked. Maybe they should all do us a favor and pull a Biden.

US coronavirus cases surpass 9 million - CNN

So after many paragraphs talking about a record rise in cases across nearly every state they put this at the end.

"A CNN investigation of 17 Trump campaign rallies finds that 14 of the host counties had an increased rate of new Covid-19 cases one month after the rally.
The 17 rallies occurred between August 17 and September 26. CNN evaluated the rate of new daily cases per 100,000 residents at four weeks before the rally, on the rally date, and four weeks after the rally at the county level and at the state level.
Of the 14 host counties that had increased infection rates, eight of them had declining rates of infection in the month before the rally. The other six counties already had increasing rates of infection in that preceding month."

Of course there's an increased rate in those counties since you just told us there's an increased rate almost EVERYWHERE.

Girlfriend and kids got tested yesterday and results came back today. Girlfriend and little one tested positive and the oldest was inconclusive. I was tested today so results should be in tomorrow. Kids seem perfectly fine. No symptoms on my end or none that are significantly out of the ordinary that I can tell. Girlfriend claims to have symptoms but she’s a bit of a hypochondriac so who knows. Whatever it is it’s not severe. Nobody is running a fever or having trouble breathing. Maybe an occasional cough but that could be anything. Been 8 days since known first exposure to someone who tested positive. Now with positive results it’s isolating for 10 days.

If that doesn't explain the vast amount of asymptomatic cases then I don't know what would
McRib and many others are "shared staff" and work at more than one facility in the company. They can be positive at one hospital (using off-site lab A) and negative the next day at the other (using off-site lab B).

If they have to do more than 32 replication on pcr the virus count is so minute I would doubt it was transmissible. This makes sense.
They are still using a research tool for diagnosis. They still haven't, 6 months into this, washed the pure strain virus.
that was Sept 2nd.

Sheesh ....you guys are only 2 months behind ☺

Do the glue-sniffing bros ever stop to wonder why not a single younger, semi-healthy person they know has died of CV during the entire eight month plague?
I only even know 3 people that have gotten it period. All had very minor symptoms. 1 got it at work as she works in a nursing facility and they’re in the best PPE available the entire time where she works. Still got it. Not even 3% of the country has tested positive. I remember when it was going to be 70%+ of the country but of course that was really all about trying to spread fear.

I loathe Northam, but in my school in SWVA since yesterday, we've had 7 confirmed positive student cases, 2 confirmed positive teacher cases, 2 buses fully quarantined because kids who tested positive sat in the back of the buses, and a retired principal and good friend (who is in bad shape) turned away from a Ballad hospital because there was no room. My wife has a compromised immune system, and two of the students who tested positive were in my classroom this morning.
Yikes man. I hope you and your wife are ok.

The government solved the problem of kids failing school 30 years ago. Trust me. They aren't worried about that. Any kids who logged in more than twice get an A. Everyone else gets a B. Problem solved.

Turns out it's way easier to get stuff done in the government when none of the public school pions know how to add or subtract anyway
One of the dumbest things ever done was tying money to the performance of students.

I believe this. Covid has kept people from seeking care. They are choosing food over meds, canceling doctors appts or not being able to get into see a doctor, letting conditions that will kill them go untreated.
I've taken care of covid + since the beginning. I'd say 80% of those that died were black. The black population in this area is 50%.
The pts all had something in common, they were all hypertensive, obese, poor nutrition and delayed care to the extent their inflammatory markers were very high when we got them.
We have gotten so far away from teaching proper nutrition and exercise to the point that people are immunologically compromised and it's killing people.
Here's your community service message: movement is life and step away from the fast food.

How accurate do you think the PCR test is? Why haven't we heard more about its accuracy? Either the test has a lot of false positives or there are a ton of asymptomatic people out there. Huge policy decisions are being based on those PCR tests.

Play Ostrich? Who benefits from that except for the fringe non-believers?

So...most recommendations are that if you are near someone who has been tested positive, you need to get tested. And then those recommendations say that if your test is negative you still need to quarantine for 10-14 days. So, you tell me. Why are we testing if the result doesn’t change the treatment?

How is it you knew in your half fast example that your first person tested positive ?

I assume you meant half-a$$ed example. But I’m supposing they had a positive test. A test that has a high probability according to Dr Fauci of being a false positive.

Edit: which also begs the question of why the first person was tested if no one was going to treat them differently based on their result.

Anybody recognizing that all the posters going pfffft about Covid are the ones who have it or have had it. Glad you didn’t get it early on before it morphed into its current lower death rate whatever it is

Duh!

Please point out what is not idiotic about ordering a test that doesn’t change treatment.

Oh, and please try facts or logic and not ad hominem attacks.
No go back and read your first reply and tell me what you said that was idiotic. You make an idiotic post and then wonder why someone calls you an idiot

In layman’s terms what does this mean?
PCR takes a sample and amplifies it X amount of times in order to get a profile. I only know about it from watching every Forensics Files episode where they use it to get DNA profiles from evidence. In those cases they do it as many times as the sample can handle to get a match. But that doesn’t seem like the same approach should be taken to see if you’re “positive” for a virus.
