If he is so good the what makes you think he will come to Tennessee. Or better yet what makes you think we will shell out the money. You know UT track record as well as I do when it comes to paying for quality.

I don’t think that’s the track record with the current administration. I think we have everyone on the same page from the President on down.

Many criticize our dbs but the true problem is we get very little push from our front 7 which makes the back end have to work dbl to do their job. Pressure up front causes ints and fumbles. The dbs are only supposed to have to cover 3 secs not 4, 5, or 7.

We'll be lucky to get either one of them to be frank. If it is Tosh he'd be a good fit at inside lbers. We seem to be weak there, but after studying Pruitt's defensive schemes it's the mental aspect, imo that makes being a starter on our defense quite awhile to develop a consistent player. I'd take Davis and so far UT seems to be willing to throw down the cash. Don't understand letting Rocker go. Pruitt must demand excellence on defense apparently. Could use either due to the recruiting aspect also.

He and Pruitt are tight...and we’re hiring. I’m aware of our track record since FULMER took over. We ain’t skimping. Two million dollar coordinators, OL coach pulls down $800 k...DL coach that coached 4 games made $600 k...stop me when you know something.

Were you on HERE when Rocker was coaching? It was a daily call out over recruiting. I championed him for pretty much his whole tenure but eventually wore down myself. He wasn’t getting it done recruiting so we needed BOTH. Thought that was Brumbaugh but just because it wasn’t doesn’t mean the move wasn’t necessary...Pruitt just went with Ansley’s recommendation and Ansley was wrong.

You are absolutely right. But I believe we over paid for both coordinators. Our offense has not gotten better under Cheney in his 2nd year. And it also blows my mind paying Ansley what we do as a DC and he don’t even run the defense. Pruitt has stated many times that he runs the defense and calls the plays. But look at the past history and you will see that we looked for lower rates with Kiffin, Dooley, Butch. None the less we all love our Vols and wants what is best for them. I’m just not sure fulmer and Pruitt is what’s best so far. Fulmer don’t good my giving real money to Barnes and it’s paying off. We need to go out and get a good Head Coach and money will do that. Just look at Barnes. End of the day money talks and ******** walks

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Slow down Tex! I answered your question on why I’d think UT would fork out dough...cart before horse! Fulmer hired Pruitt and he’s getting at least another season...and everything he needs to win. Kidding yourself otherwise.

Fulmer not willing to shell out the money. Or Pruitt don’t want a coach like Hugh Freeze on staff because he knows he can’t call all the shots with Freeze a better coach and then as soon as Pruitt gets in hot water he don’t wanna have to worry about Freeze taking over as HC even though he may be the better choice.

I know Sankey blocked Saban from hiring him. Reason given, it would look bad if he were hired in the SEC while Ole Miss was still on probation (because of Freeze). I guess I'm just curious how Sankey can block any school from hiring someone. Some random SEC bylaw? Gentleman's agreement?

I know Pruitt getting another season. It’s year 2020 the year that doesn’t count due to the China Virus. Pruitt needs to go out and hire Freeze and get ride of Winkie and Friend. Even saban admitted that the league as changed from a defense first to offense first now. And even saban hates it but he’s a good enough coach to realize that and change with the times. Good luck to Pruitt and staff but I believe Pruitt and Fulmer down fall is there stubbornness. So far Fulmer 1st hire as football coach is not working and his hire for the woman team is up in the air. We will have a better idea of that hire in another year or 2.

Bad to hire someone like Freeze but it’s ok for Bama to hire a pill popping alcoholic and show up to school functions around kids and other staff under the influence. That’s so much better. The SEC office is as bad as the NCAA office.
