I’m not saying Pruitt won’t succeed and I truly hope he does but at some point we have to hire proven coaches that are established at there craft and not coaches that are up and coming with no experience.

Look of you don't know a person or their background please don't mk dumb random statements. Bo was a superstar DL coach at Texas before he ever went to Bama. He was known as a technical coach who gets it done on the road in recruiting. Hire him last wk.

Seen Derek Dooley as a once former assistant under saban in college and it didn’t relate to any thing that resembles winning in College or NFL.

All I know is that we haven’t had any luck with any Bama or Sabans assistants and just because they was successful at Bama or Texas doesn’t mean it’s gonna translate at a different school when saban isn’t around.

Sal Sunseri worked out great didn’t it. And Ansley is being paid like a top tier DC and he don’t even calls the plays on defense. So why are we paying him a cool Million a year to be the DC and he not even in charge of the defense

You can find EXAMPLES but we’re talking position coaches...not coordinators. Bo Davis is great hire for DL coach if we can swing it. We’re not hiring him for DC.

Why not we have been hiring position coaches for years as coordinators. Seems like that’s the only way Tennessee knows since they always look for the bargain hire. We hired a DC as a head coach so what has changed that you think Tennessee all of sudden gonna change who they are when it comes to front office decisions.

But we need a guy that can get em and coach em and today he's not in the category of the other 2 mentioned.

Yup and what was Pruitt before being an head coach and what was Ansley before being hired as a DC. They both was position coaches and Pruitt was DC along as position coach.

Which Pruitt said he will not fill till after the season. Might as well call Chavis since he is already in Knoxville. Better yet let’s call Rush Propst and Dale Pruitt. Hear they all great coaches also.

Chavis coached linebackers and has never been a good recruiter. “Might as well” hire a top flight name for DL coach...Bo Davis fits that description.

Don’t remember Pruitt every coaching the DL but he sure is now though ain’t he. We all thought Pruitt was a top flight recruiter and he still may very well be but up till this point Butch has our recruited him. Pruitt is most definitely a better coach than Butch but so far Pruitt hasn’t had a class close to the top 3 yet in any year.

No he's done his time and is free to come bk to college. Both he and Tosh will be getting their phones blown up to come join staffs all across the country. They both recruit and coach very fundamental styles. We need to find room for both. And before anyone ask I don't know what/ who to let go on defense to mk room for both but we NEED them both. We need trench monsters and edge rusher to be taught technique and to be violent when pursuing the ball and qb. It will make things so much easier for our back end. Many criticize our dbs but the true problem is we get very little push from our front 7 which makes the back end have to work dbl to do their job. Pressure up front causes ints and fumbles. The dbs are only supposed to have to cover 3 secs not 4, 5, or 7.

Wasted top 5 classes we found. This isn’t about what Pruitt’s able to do with the DL. It’s about filling the spot with a top flight coach and recruiter. Hope it’s Bo Davis.

Jones dropped back 28 times last week and was only pressured twice, it's been a problem and needs immediate improvement. I thought Rocker was our biggest loss this past offseason.

If we're going to play the "what if?" game...

Bring in both, have Davis as the DL coach, Tosh as OLB coach, move Felton to ILB coach, move Neids back to TE coach but also make him ST Coordinator so it doesn't read as a demotion, Osovet to QB coach, Weinke either moves to analyst or moves on, then we just need to find a quality OL coach. Tee and Jay remain at their current positions.

They were both great recruiters at Bama. Please list the beatdown rebuilding programs where they successfully recruited elite talent. I'm not buying anymore of Bama experience on anyone's resume unless their last name is Saban.

Serious question.
I don't follow pro football or all the position coaches everywhere. Is Davis about to be fired? How old is he? Why would he want to leave the pros for all the hassles of being a college coach?
