You’re age is getting to your eyes. Alontae will make the open-field tackle while Bryce tries to murder them with a cold shoulder which someone else has to clean up 5 yards down the field.
We disagree...sonny. You make me tired. Let me fix myself some oatmeal. 😴

That’s fine. I don’t think it’s impossible for a *good* hire to win 10+ games once or twice in a three year span.

But when we’re discussing programs as a whole, and you put a net-average coach in the HC chair at each program, Tennessee is 3rd in the East and closer to South Carolina and Kentucky than Georgia and Florida.

I agree we traditionally a 7-9 win team, but at the end of CJM years and the majority of CPF coaching career we were going to the SEC championship games and winning 9-11 a year. I fill if CJP can get to the SEC championship game and recruits start to believe that we can make the playoffs that our recruiting will take off. If we can start getting those players, I believe we can be winning the East say 2 out of 5 years. If we were able to ever get to the playoffs, I think we could recruit at Bamas and Georgia’s level then we could see years like the late 90’s and early 2000’s. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities, but not likely as we sit right now.

OK, all of you former football players out there. How many of our talented freshmen will be ready to play meaningful minutes vs. Arkansas after 2 weeks of "fall camp"? How much can they actually learn in 2 weeks?
The only thing I’ve ever learned solidly in a short amount of time is how deep I’m in over my head.

Got to stream a little bit of Ramon fosters appearance this morning. He said something like we need to use the bye week to simplify our gameplan and focus on the things that we do best or well.

What are those things right now to you guys? Specifically on offense and defense

On offense run downhill straight at people. Even if our backs cant break a tackle we usually get 4-5 yards a carry. And then let Hyatt run by people.
On defense stop the run

Simplify things in the secondary. We’re clearly lost back there

on offense...more Eric Gray....keep getting him touches....in the passing game, hyatt, wideman, palmer would be my main three going forward....something i'd find a way to get involved is a TE....

on defense...to me it's about personnel...i think we have the most depth and talent in the back end, so i might be willing to give up a little up front, and i might go with more packages that get 6 guys on the field that can play Star, SAfety or Corner....we'd play a bend but don't break style of defense that really focused on being opportunistic with turnovers and being a shut down defense in the red zone.....but get speed out there...we're not gonna get beat on the edges and we're not gonna get out run at the 2nd/3rd level.

i just haven't seen enough from the DL that says we can just go play man to man....and our LB's get eaten up by OL that get to the 2nd level.....we may wind up being crap against the run, but we would see an increase in turnover margin, and our red zone defense should improve....well, as long as we keep them outside the 7 or 8 yard line anyway...lol.....

Off topic, anyone more familiar with track and field and their drug testing? I read about Christian Coleman, and it seems so old-fashioned. Can't believe he gets a 2 year ban for that.

Run the g@$damn ball, and find a QB that can be consistently competent in the short and intermediate game.

Dan Harralson was just on Basilio. He said that people think, myself included, that the job is too big for Pruitt. Dan disagreed and said that he believes Pruitt is too big for the job. That he’s not getting the type of support he expects.

For example, Pruitt wanted Hugh Freeze and it was supported by Boyd but shot down by a prominent booster. Pruitt also wanted Lance Thompson and Probst but those were shot down too. In order for Pruitt to be successful he needs more support to hire the types of coaches he wants much like the support Saban has at Alabama.

Other notes, Harralson believes Chaney is much higher on Salters who will arrive in Jan and likely be fast tracked to a real opportunity to start. Arkansas is a bad matchup for us. Pruitt’s first recruiting class is really hurting us but it’s not Pruitt’s fault there just wasn’t enough time.

You're the Xs and Os guy. What do you see as our strengths?

Why in the world some of these prominent boosters don’t want to win is beyond me. We could have had Freeze as OC and was cleared by the President, yet a booster was able to nix it?? Unreal if true. Looks like we still aren’t all rowing in the same direction on the hill. We will continue to not be able to take the next step if this is all true.
