Don't live in OK, or FL, without it.
After the the last episode here, I really considered the natural gas version; but generally outages are so far apart, I just couldn't justify it. One other thing I looked into about the same time was a whole house tankless hot water heater to replace the gas water heater; my brother in law had my wife sold on it. Then I discovered that they (at least the new ones) even though they are gas require electric power. That concept got flushed immediately. I might go without heat or A/C and lights for a few days, but I'm not about to give up hot water. Going out in a storm stricken area to hunt gas for a generator is no fun either.
I buried a 500 gallon NG tank and hard wired both of my houses, for the Generacs, in FL. It is a life saver. Highly recommend.
I really liked what I saw when I read up on Generacs - no question for somebody in an area really prone to outages or somebody with health consideration requiring power backup.
I would run far far away from that.Be on the look-out for these rare sightings. They say they're shopping at Walmart and Kroger like regular folk.

I loved everything I saw about Generac...
Except the price. For the few times I would need it, I just couldn't justify the cost. If I lived in a hurricane prone area or well out in the country where it might take days for the power to come back on, it's justified. Not for my limited use though.
