Bama is the least of our problems right now. Tennessee needs to get their house in order. I believe we have some dissension in the ranks that needs ironing out. Max effort isn't there at times.

Florida and Georgia.

You might not think of it this way, but you're really insulting yourself (Tennessee) by having this point of view. Les Miles used to bring this up publicly all the time. It sounds ok at first and then you stop and think about what he meant and you realize he was saying it's not fair for LSU to play Florida while Alabama gets a cupcake game against Tennessee.

I added to my earlier post.

Auburn gets Georgia every year.
LSU gets Florida every year.
Alabama gets Tennessee every year.

They rotate the other East opponent. And if you think Auburn is happy playing Georgia and LSU is happy playing Florida while Alabama has enjoyed getting Tennessee every year, think again.

Sounds like they are getting screwed like UT. More reason to change the scheduling to make it fair for everyone. I think the primary rivalry’s should be in the same division

I've followed the game long enough now to know that champions win. It's what they do. And when you've got a championship team, you win.

LSU did everything last year but play Ohio State. Played Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, and Clemson.

I can tell you that each of Florida's national title teams played the hardest possible schedule they could play in terms of the West teams that rotated on the schedule.

The 1998 Tennessee schedule was brutal.

The schedule matters for teams who are trying to qualify for a bid to the Outback Bowl instead of the Music City Bowl.

For champions......it's doesn't matter.

The whole thing was set up the way it was to preserve the UT/Alabama and Georgia/Auburn games. Which is funny at the time divisions were announced, the main complaint was the potential ending of annual rivalries. And here we are 18 years later people are complaining because we DO play Alabama every year.

And nobody starting complaining about it until about 2012.

IDK, you still can have those rivalries. They would just happen every 3 years or so. The division rivalries to me have more significance.

Losing to South Carolina and Vanderbilt cost the Vols the East in 2016. Probably the last real time the Vols will have for at least a decade at the division.

Right. UT beat Florida and Georgia and even if they had beat Alabama they still wouldn't have gone to Atlanta.

Who cares? I’m not a fan of a school just trying to win the East. Maybe that’s your cup of tee. If the vols start playing to just win the East, I’ll stop my support of the athletics department immediately.

Right now the goal should be to beat Kentucky and Vanderbilt on a consistent basis

The out of division Sec schedule can hurt or help teams. The out of division schedule rotation should be the same for every East or west division team. It could hurt us in the future even if it hasn’t in the past.

Doesn't do any good to worry about Bama but I prefer they do away with permanent opponents from the west and rotate all west teams into the schedule so that if you play here for four years you can play against all SEC teams. For the whiners about the Bama game just schedule them in your non conference spot instead of App St or Sisters of the weak if it means that much to you. I also don't think that game should factor into any conference ranking or affect rankings in the east or west since you would have played it outside of the normal SEC schedule and not every team would do that.
