New QB being Installed During Offweek

We played the 2nd best offense in the country. Most NFL teams could not stop the Bama offense this year. We need to improve on D, no doubt. But, to say would have no chance to stop anyone is just not true.
Yeah it might make people feel a little better if they remember how ridiculous bammers offense is. They have put up 40 plus against like everybody and one of their touchdowns was Grays fumble. We were inexcusable bad, but they also put up practically the same amount of points against the best defense in America.

We gave up 300 yards of total offense to Kentucky last week. That’s inexcusable considering how bad we now know Kentucky is.

Im sure Maurer and Bailey will get more reps than usual for sure but JG will start vs Arkansas. Don't kid yourself. Though he has to play decent games he rest of the season. I assume he finally on his last straw. Lmao.
JG had the longest last straw I've ever heard of. He was supposed to be on his last straw after the Bama game last season.

For those digital warriors out there who don’t understand the actual schedule and challenges Tennessee has had please read

1. Due to COVID, NO backup QB has been developed due to MANDATED quarantine from contact tracing. Blame Trump, Blame Biden, Blame China, Blame whoever. You can’t train a backup in 4 practices.

2. Our QB issue is about AWARENESS and the offense. Our mistakes are due to bad decision making. A QB questioning himself.

3. Chaneys offense DEPENDS on a QB who can AUDIBLE and make MULTIPLE reads. Maybe a young gun can do this, however, you need PRACTICE to have a playbook deeper than your wristband.

I GUARANTEE QB change happening for Arkansas UNLESS COVID/HEALTH issues.

BOOK IT

After watching Hyatt yesterday, we have the best one/two punch in WR's we've had in years. Problem is Chaney isn't putting them on the field at the same time. You put Hyatt and Palmer wide on the same play and how many SEC teams have 2 DB's that can cover them? Palmer would have had 2 TD's against any other team yesterday.

BS. Every NFL team, even the worst, would beat their asses all over the field on both sides of the ball. My goodness
I'm just stating we have lots of talent in those areas, but they're not being coached up at all. There were two instances yesterday on long pass plays where our DBs were there but took terrible angles. Both of them at worst should have been broken up easily. That's not an issue as to lack of talent as it is to coaching
After losing the best WR in the country on the opening kick-off, Alabama still never missed a beat. They just brought in another future NFL talent. That is having elite position groups. Our little fellows at WR were in high school last year. Your failure to see the talent gap is an indication that you wear orange tinted goggles. I am glad some folks can still do that. But it does not change facts. We do not have talent anywhere that is elite level. You are what your record says you are. We are the bitches of the top SEC teams, an easy win and an off week. A new coach or quarterback alone will not change anything enough for anyone to fear the Vols. To be competitive at the top, we must have better players across the board. To paraquote ADPF from his coaching days...You don't have to have great players at every position. But it sure helps you win games.

Chaney's offense DEPENDS on a time machine and a super bowl winning qb that leads the NFL in TDs and passing completions

It wouldn't matter if we had Patrick Mahomes if the guy had to spend the entire game running for his life from defenders

CFB is about talent. Saban and Dabo dont know more about football than other people, they just walk on the field with superior talent.

Pruiit hasnt really done a great job of recruiting and for that reason he walks on the field with average talent and gets his doors blown off.

Guys like Chris Kliemann and Matt Rhule prove that wrong. Real leaders can walk into any situation, business or sports, and instantly make it better. It will trend up consistently with good leadership.

This year you can look at guys like Sam Pittman to see it happening as well.

We have talent, not George or Bama talent but still, but this coaching staff and entire program is dysfunctional from the very top down.

At a time when we need Pruitt to let go of micromanaging the details and focus on being a leader of the organization, he decides to make himself defensive line coach. He's going entirely the wrong direction.

Nobody was running for their lives from defenders yesterday, every now and then yes, the whole game, no. JG had plenty of time to go downfield multiple times.

The Qb Issue has or is destroying the moral of the team. That is one of the reasons for the regression on defense.
Lol. I’ve heard it all now. We’ve had issues on defense since game one. That has nothing to do with who the quarterback is. Good grief.

I don't think that was the point.

If the players no longer believe in JG or they think someone else should be playing and Pruitt is starting JG anyway then that will kill morale. It will destroy trust. The locker room will divide.... and that's bad news with leadership questions already being raised.

They're not completely unrelated. If the quarterback can't maintain enough drive to occupy some time of possession, or turns the ball over a lot, does anything that puts the defense in disadvantageous positions, it definitely affects them. Especially when you factor in the scale of it happening multiple times.

I was hoping we would be 3-2 after this week. I wanted them to get through this week and move on to HB. If Pruitt keeps JG as a starter for the Arkansas game that to me is crazy. This is a perfect year to get quality reps for the next QB

*holds ball way too long*
*takes unnecessary sacks*
*makes panic throws*

Where is this running thing you're taking about? Might welcome it.
