Dee Beckwith, Jimmy Holiday, and Jimmy Calloway are all capable of running the wildcat or triple option. So this is one of the worst in-season spots we've been in before a game in a while. We all know we have a huge problem and yet we don't know if we have a fix.
-JG has melted down one too many times.
-Shrout is still unknown but he's made poor decisions in limited samples.
-Maurer was reckless last season but he was also a spark plug for the whole team. BUT we don't know how prepared/injured he is.
-HB is a true freshman who has had no practice time. He threw some very good passes and one that could've been picked.
-We don't appear to have a WR/RB who can run the wildcat.
To top it off, all of this uncertainty comes when the opponent is Alabama...
We're going to test their run defense which hasn't been very special all year but we have speedsters at RB not bruisers and without a passing game, the run game can be shut down. Frankly, IDK how coaches are going to gameplan this one for our offense. Have they even had time to figure out what Maurer and Bailey can do this year? In hindsight, it's easy to see they didn't think JG would meltdown this badly and planned our season around a very boring 'protect the ball' offense with the defense picking up the slack. That has clearly backfired but do they press on with that strategy and the same QB or even a new QB (same strategy) or do they open things up and go in a new direction?
Dee’s still banged up and kinda been thrown all over the place, Holiday had to convert so he’s still getting used to being a WR, and Calloway got here late and is still adjusting but idk really know on that one. They’re all young guys but had a lot of reps at quarterback in high schoolWhy aren't we using them more?

I had a feeling that’d come up haha. Seriously btw tho I have to thank you for bringing me down to earth the other day about being argumentative. I’d been allowing too much negativity to steer me back into my anger on here & I was seriously lashing out. What you said the other day helped me refocus on here. We’ve got some great people on here but also some douche nozzles as well but that’s what makes this place what it is.View attachment 317291
Apparently, you still have a lot to learn! Lol
Sounds like the QB room is in shambles. Maurer and Shrout should be better. It's called growth. HB should have been fast tracked if Shrout and Maurer haven't shown growth.-JG has melted down one too many times.

Well 2 have been unavailable so that leaves JG and Shrout. Chaney was able to get Nathan Peterman drafted — our Nathan Peterman who turned in the worst single game performance I’ve ever witnessed and who remained broken while he was here despite a sports psychologist also trying to bring him back around. And yet that same QB under Chaney beats Clemson and hands them their only loss when they were both at Pitt.Sounds like the QB room is in shambles. Maurer and Shrout should be better. The Weinke factor? A man so genius he got the dline coach fired instead.
