He seems fine jumping up and down after scores and playing scout QB every week. I think he is transferring and they are keeping it under wraps until year end. If he plays then I am complete FOS and will eat crow. But if he doesn’t play at all this year, I think it will be pretty telling.
Hubbs stated, paraphrasing, we will see more than one qb versus Bama. Maurer was hurt during fall, hes fine now...he played scout qb. he may get another shot or HB.

Not really earth shattering stuff but, mostly fact based.

I mean, he IS dealing with some mental health issues. I’d not be super shocked if we didn’t. I like the boy a lot tho. He seems like a good teammate at the very least.
yeah, i know he's had his issues with that. but part of that story was how he's overcome and managed them.

i think if that were the issue, that was preventing him from playing, then he probably should transfer..and really shoudn't be involved with the football program at all....i mean,.....at what point did simply not playing in the games become the line not to cross, otherwise his mental health be in peril, questionable or in jeopardy?

i think it really is just as simple as the leg kept him out of fall camp too long, it's still nagging, so they've gone with others. the others dont necessarily show to be significant upgrades. BM is practicing. so if he can go...let him go....i think we're to that point in the season.

if not this week, then definitley over the next two weeks, you got to get him ready for the possilbityh of playing.

*not a dr. :)

Thanks! Let’s pray he and Bailey both get a shot.

well the cycle we've been on is well documented.

i'm not ready to go to all the places you went here, with this staff yet. but last saturday was the first time i peeked down that path....the undisciplined play was not good...compounding the already horrific turnovers and other mistakes.

i think it's hard to judge committment level. and i have to go back to the circumstance this staff took over to begin with. our program was not a year or two, or even 3...away....most of us knew and acknowledged that.

the one thing i think most agreed on as well was that for this staff to be successfull long term, somewhere in the first few years, they were going to have likely "coach" their way to a big win. that hasn't happened yet. and we're in the middle of year 3, which would be a good time to do that....of course this year three is not like other year 3's.................

the frustrating part is that i think most of us, definitley me, thought performances like last Saturday against opponents like that were behind us. we may lose, to a peer (UK, MO, USCe et al...) but we're not getting blown out by 3 TD's by teams like that anymore.....wrong.

so that sucked. leaves an awful tasted behind....and the reaction this week is simply due to the fact that taste is still there, and now eveyrone is recalling anything close to a bad meal they've had over the past 3 years......

the next two weeks are big....because that will likely dictate how the next 5 games go.

My first look down that path was Georgia State. I still don't get that game and I was there. Nobody could line up correctly. But, I'm confident Pruitt is a Good Coach (unlike Butch) and combines good recruiting. I'm also not anywhere near ready for yet another coaching change.

Great...cant wait to see him throw 2 redzone interceptions.

i think the GSU game, while certainly baaaaad....is a little easier to forgive and forget is because of how they rallied and finished in the SEC and bowl game....to me, that said a lot more about htem, than that one game...especially considering the level of ownership pruitt took for that, admitted he made some mistakes and would correct them. by all accounts...it certainly appeared that he did, given the finish.

another reason why last saturday was so maddening.......

Jumper ended up being a pretty serviceable lb. This board was livid over his early playtime and the reasons behind it.
yep
he was really good is pass coverage. Wish like hell we had him in coverage right now over Banks and crouch. He’s Better than Henry T as well

man I miss Casey clauson
Guy was a road warrior
Clasey Causon...our last composite 5 stah QB. Also a noted cruiser on the strip back in the day in his Sebring. The frosted hair tips just took his persona over the edge.

Need more 'dem Payton and Clauson guys...

Random note: we also took John Rattay that year - ranked #110 overall. Those were the 'crootin days right there taking 2 top-110 QBs in a class like in '94.

Almost nobody has a shot to beat Bama..so..

They ran through UGAs defense like a hot knife through butter..Venables might could scheme them down a bit if they play Clemson again...but that's it.

We always were two more classes from legitimately competing with the Have's.
Any simile of this variety always makes me think about when Saban went off on a reporter. Hate the guy, but I bust a gut every time I hear this.

Ah, yes, there’s the Bruin that we all know and...well...we all know him.

Such a skillful baiter...almost like he’s a master of it.

Pathetic folks here.

I’m going to cheer my ass off for whomever plays QB tomorrow and be damn proud I am wearing orange.

Anyone wanting the season to be shut down better sit back and reflect on what that means is going on in this world and what kind of effect that has on peoples lives. Screw them and that thinking!
