I disagree. Both in recruiting rankings and how they’ve played, UGA has been much tougher during Pruitt’s tenure.
UGA record by year with more info on losses to teams they should beat and/or when they were beat by 2 scores - starting with Butch’s first season:
2013: 8-5
- lost to Mizzou by 15
- lost to Vandy
- lost to Nebraska in Gator Bowl
2014: 10-3
- lost to SC
- lost to FL by 18
- lost to GT
2015: 10-3
- lost to Bama by 28
- lost to FL by 24
2016: 8-5
- lost to Ole Miss by 31
- lost to Vandy
- lost to FL by 14
- lost to GT
2017: 13-2
- lost to AU by 23
2018 (Pruitt’s first at UT): 11-3
- lost to LSU by 20
2019: 12-2
- lost to SC by 3 in 2 OT
- lost to LSU by 27 (LSU Nat’l Champs)
2020: 3-1
- lost to Bama by 17
Anyway you slice it, they’re better now than when Butch faced them.
Edit: I sure hope this ends the discussion bc I’m not tryna look at more UGA stuff.
Salter may be most important cruit in this hurr class mayn.Y’all still talking about JG?

I think richt is a better coach than Kirby was the SEC as a whole was 10x better when richt was at UGA vs when Kirby got there. If you look at the team and program that was built and established for Kirby its east to see why there have been a bit of a downfall. The sec is just down compared to most years that why i think Kirby is looking better than he is.
I promise I wasn’t belly aching haha. I was just sharing some personal experience. But yeah this msg board is meant for discussions and all & I truly understand that. I, like others, don’t understand the ones that spew hatred & wish Covid-19 on the kid. That’s someone’s child. Kinda effed. But anyways, I think Maurer starts this weekend & Bailey sees some time. I think we’ve seen the last of Shrout in a Tennessee uniform. Some would disagree with me on that. It's a message board. To discuss Tennessee football, which happens to include the players on the team. Nobody is saying JG is a bad guy. And most acknowledge it's not his fault that he's bad. It's on the coaches for lack of development or unwillingness to move on from him. JG just is what he is. He doesn't have it and never will. It doesn't mean we think he doesn't try or bleed orange. One thing is obvious though - he isn't a leader, and that is a pretty important trait of a successful QB.
Oh for sure. I don't even need to see what happens this year or next. Long term, Briles and Odom are a top notch combo. Top 3 in SEC imo.it doesn't get talked about much...but you can make a case, based on the early returns, that arkansas hit home runs on both coordinators........
Over the course of last year and this year, it seems like Pruitt is putting other QBs out there simply to justify why he keeps starting JG.
It doesn't feel like he actually believes they are going to do any better, or that he is doing it to help them develop in the offense.
I held on to that “he’s the least likely to get us BEAT” sentiment...til he started getting us beat.
Because Shrout threw an interception on his one pass attempt, last week ? I hope u are wrong, JG has been allowed to make hundreds a mistakes, surely Shrout gets another chance after only one mistake and 3 plays. I'm not saying Shrout is the answer at QB, but I would like to see more of a sample size, than one pass attempt and 3 playsI promise I wasn’t belly aching haha.
