hindsight is a beautiful thing.......................................................

shocker, veteran qb's got more reps than an incoming freshman that didn't get to go thru spring ball......................

man...y'all are on your game today...............................lol.

Sure it’s hindsight’s but let’s be honest JT has always been a longshot prospect. He threw nearly 30 picks his senior year of high school and reports of high interception rates have been there all Preseason. It certainly isnt a shocker that bailey is the more upside prospect.

I don’t know how you can defend “giving up” on giving a 5 star QB prospect reps in favor of a kid that throws it to the wrong team more than he does his own team in JT

Better but not good. They played ole miss when they were missing nine players and they had six picks. Game was still close even with six picks. Dominated by UGA once they benched their terrible QB.
You forgot to quote a post I think lol. I assume you're talking about arky though. Their defense has gotten stout. We should beat them, but it's not the gimme that we thought it was before the season. Pittman/Odom are working some miracles over there.

I don't necessarily agree with your argument but love the minority report comment.
that was pretty good.... :)

but it's really not for anyone to agree or disagree with ..... the reason HB didn't get as many reps as the staff most assuredly wanted him to get was because of situation/circumstance, not becuae they just decided not to do it.

and there is a point in every fall camp, especially this one, where you have to push your eggs in to a basket............and pushing those eggs in to the veterans on the roster, your 5th year sr with 3 years experience.......isn't that hard of a call, if you really consider everything.

and don't get it twisted....i'm not syaing he should continue to get reps or start, but this monday morning QB'ing about this situaiton is just dumb.....lotta revisionist history going on right now, and just plain ignoring what really went on for the past 7 months.

when the spring got cancelled, and he got quarantined, that pretty much sealed the deal on him competing for the 1 or 2 spot.

things play out the way they play out. but what they did to start the season, wasn't "wrong". the only "wrong" thing now is to continue doing the same thing, hoping it 'just gets better'....

We'll never pay up, especially when continually paying buyouts. I still think Pruitt can get it done, but he has to move on from this infatuation with JG.
We were more than willing to pay Gundy...that’s narrative’s fan fiction. No one spouting it has a legitimate NAME. Stating that we should offer Urban $10 mil a year and make him say no is lazy...he’ll say no. I remember when that was the hot take on Chip Kelly...🤔

I don't believe in conceding a game before it's even played. Putting JG back out there feels like just that.

No joke. We don’t pay this staff all the money that we do in order to get blown out by rivals. They are paid to win games. If Bailey gives you the best opportunity to win, you play him. Period.

that's not the argument being made here. stay on point......Harrison Baiely's opportunity to get more reps was taken away by circumstances not under his or the coaches control, not stunted by the coaches.
And now there’s a season to salvage. Won’t happen by itself.

cause they didn't?

That's what Butch said about Dobbs, till he was forced to put him in and he played a lot better than all the other options. When something isn't working, you try something else, even if you THINK the something else won't work either. Put Gray in at QB rather than playing someone who is 100% not working.
He’s got his headphones on. You’ll get a response after he remixes “Sweet Caroline”.

Give Pruitt 2 years to hopefully continue to stabilize the roster. If we’re lucky an NFL team comes calling for maybe a DC position. Then we hire a coach with HC experience who has at least won at a smaller school running a type of offense that can keep up in the SEC.

dont disagree.

circumstances change, new course of action needed.....i'm not arguing against HB in favor of JG at this point. i'm just marvelling at the notion that the shutdown, and quarantines are some how the coaches' fault.......

They're not. But continuing to play JG when he's shown he should be benched is.

For the record I’m Not saying covid Played a big role. I’m just disappointed the staff gave JT reps over Bailey if those reports are true

reports say they did

Of course I don’t know if those reports are true or not
contextually, there's no way they are.
once HB got quarantined in fall camp........you really didn't have a choice but to move reps to other guys. JG and shrout got the lion's share, and we now know Maurer has had a nagging leg/hammy or whatever.

this isn't about skill or abilities or the inability to recognize them...

it's jsut freaking math...........lol......limited # of practices, these two guys can't go for a myriad of reasons, so these two get the reps....

not real hard.

now, circumstances change, reps are being split up, and i would imagine we'll see changes at QB at some point.
but the notion that the staff screwed this up and it's their fault, is lazy as hell.

when was he available? spring? summer? fall camp? after the season started? so your plan is take reps away from the guy that is starting, and the two guys that have 2 years in the program, and give them to a guy that you don't know is capable of starting, all on hte hope that the guy that is starting won't implode, but if he does, we have a plan.........?

wtf. so not only is it their fault he got quarantined, they're also accountable for not being able to predict the future....and account for it in practice?

what is this, the football version of Minority Report?
You give him more than 10 reps which is what the announcers during the game said. I would have to see the exact rep breakdown to know for sure who got what, but does JG really need that many reps? It’s year two in this system after all. He should be familiar enough with things by now that he doesn’t need that much work during fall camp.

Doesn’t matter anyway. JG still can’t read the field and the coaches still can’t figure that out after three years. It’s not about being able to see the future. Just what’s been in front of their eyes the whole time

Obviously they’re all about equal in the suck factor.
I know JG and Shrout suck. Maurer showed potential and with more development he could be good. But I’m not sure we are really developing QBs well right now. Bailey is damn good. You don’t dominate like he did in high school at the division that he did unless you are very good. I don’t care if the coaches are feeding bs to the media in order to downplay him. If he doesn’t work out at UT, it will be for a lack of development.

well, then you can rest easy, cause your disappointment is misplaced....he did get more reps, but not for the reason you choose to believe.

I understand your point but none of know exactly when Bailey came back and was then sent to the back of the line.
If it was game week before South Carolina I agree with you. I think he came back well before that though

Possibly but we don’t know for sure. The coaches haven’t really given shrout or maurer the chance to play and learn from their mistakes. I think JG is on his 10000000th chance and we’re all sick of watching it turn out the same way.
