Well ..... I see your line of thinking.... but the point I was trying to make is that the answer to the OP’s question is blatantly obvious.... just as any sane man would say hell no if you asked him if he’d like to put his junk in the grinderDid you word that correctly. Did you mean “start” instead of benched?
There are lots of reasons you are choosing to ignore that the "best" option might not be the current starter.
The most benign and obvious is... that everyone makes mistakes even college head coaches. The question isn't really any longer whether Pruitt made a mistake by sticking with JG so long. The question is if and how much it will cost him in the long run. It has already cost him multiple winnable games. It has already brought his credibility into question with fans, media, and other more qualified observers. It could easily result in a season that hurts recruiting. It could cost him Chaney and other quality assistants. It could cost him the respect of his team (appears to already be starting).
So how long does he hang on to these bad ideas?
This. Stop lying JG delusional dudeYou mean.......hung in there for a while.....right? This. Also....
35-13 isn’t quite the same as “almost beat.”
Did you word that correctly. Did you mean “start” instead of benched?
So you are saying "no"?
No one said JG was the answer. Might be talking over your head.
Those boys aren’t just some steak you throw to dogs to keep someone else from getting bit! If Maurer plays, he plays the following week. If Shrout plays he plays the following week. Same for Bailey. The point is to ALLOW someone to grow from where they are now for the future of the program. The question is how many people trust Pruitt at this point to choose the right one? Because whoever it is, the other ones gone.
I was referring to Pruitt choosing the right one between Maurer and Bailey. UT will not keep them both. Shrout isn’t going anywhere.This. Stop lying JG delusional dude
Both of yall esteemed gents had trouble with my boys analogy it seems. He wasn't implying that the answer itself was the SAME to the 2 crazy questions...only that they were equally OBVIOUS...
^^^ this guy is actually quoting his own post to argue with himself...must be a JG backer like the other batshit crazy delusional folks.
This....if CJP picks 1 of Shrout/Maurer and gives them the reins with HB as QB2....the odd man out will surely transfer, with 2 or 3 years eligibility remaining....to an SEC team if they are offered again. So he better make damn sure which 1 of those 2 has the most potential before picking 1 of them. Sadly, thats an excuse to start JGs raggedy butt and give the other 3 equal drives. Hope that doesn't happen, but fear it will....
Honestly, we don't need both Maurer and Shrout. I would love to keep them both, for sure, but we can get by with HB, Salter, and Shrout/Maurer....we have walk on kids to run the scout team and be QB4.....we don't need to use 4 scholarships on QBs next season if we don't have to IMO....I can only recall 1 time in my 43 years when we had to even start our 3rd team QB due to QB1 and QB2 being hurt....and that was long ago. None of our QBs are academic risks, and Salter made a point Sunday to point out that he is all Vol regardless of how we perform this season. Which I love BTW...for a kid from Texas to be that committed...HB was the same way. Love it.
JG...hit the damn road Son with that free Masters degree you got and make something of yourself. Football is over...no arena league, no canada...you're done. Use that degree and hope you do great in life...just don't ever put on an orange jersey again...please. TIA...
Receivers cannot get separation because they have to limit their routes based on JG’s limitations. I agree with the rest of your post.Benching JG will not keep tackles and Rbs from missing blocks, Will not cause receivers to get some separation, will not prevent stupid penalties .Our Dbs couldn't cover cat poop with a newspaper. But with that said I would like to see HB get his chance. But this team has more problems than who is QB, lots more.
I was referring to Pruitt choosing the right one between Maurer and Bailey. UT will not keep them both. Shrout isn’t going anywhere.
Salter is 6’1 185. I don’t see him getting over 195-200. But 6’1 is short for a qb. He moves well. Reminds me of Michael Vick but more accurate. He doesn’t look extremely fast to me though. Just looks shifty. Throws well on the run and possibly even off platform (idk). The kid looks legit. No doubt and I can see him beating out HB if he’s as accurate as he looks in his highlights. Which brings me to this. What if Maurer leaves, Salter comes in and beats out Bailey and all UT is left with is a 190 lb qb with only Shrout to back him up?Just bc Shrouts GF is here? Or is there more to it than that? BM and Bailey are our 2 best QBs though IMO...very much want to keep them both.
Salter is a baller though...and a true dual threat QB. He can flat out run, and throw well also. He will be hard to keep off the field....as long as we are getting decent QB play out of BM/HB by spring, I would love to see Salter redshirt to get some separation between him and HB....he's pretty small now, not quite 200lbs. Needs a year in the weight room/, nutrition program to gain 20lbs
