Well he had the QB out there that he was gonna start. But he can't throw he was the reason they collapsed to start with

Agreed

This is going to sound Like a cliche but while I see JG as being a serviceable SEC QB when things are going good, the main problem as I see it is that JG is a frontrunner and can’t overcome adversity when it hits. You want your players to be mentally
Tough and to forget the last play and play the next one and when the play calling completely goes into a shell that sends the wrong message especially when the outcome is already decided.

They all went into a front runner panic mode shell imo

VQ 2 min drill saying JG not just starting this year, but he is the starter from now on. AP said he talked to multiple staff members and they all said the same thing. Apparently practice is all that matters, not in game performance. Even tho Mizzou could find a QB, even tho Dobbs was a gamer, practice Peyton gonna keep his job in spite of his actual game play

I must have died at some point several years ago. I’m just now realizing I’m in a purgatory state where JG will somehow be Tennessee’s starting qb for the next 10,000 years.

Pruitt doesn't understand offense.
I'm on board with this. Pruitt thinks he can win 7-3 on the back of a strong defense. He doesn't care if the O scores he just doesn't want you to turn it over. He also has the Bama way in his mind of whoever practices the best gets to play and that isn't it either.

I am not a hypocrite...I was just as mad and sick as everybody else Saturday..but like I said, I usually calm down after adding context. Pruitt may not be a championship coach, but he sure as hell ain't a football retard like Botch and Doofus. Way too many knowledgeable football people say that about Pruitt, for him to be a football moron.

Our enemies are using our own anger and discord against us right now...bet that.

We need him to be Johnny Majors and I believe with all my heart he can. I don't know if he can be Fulmer or not, but I will wait a few years and find out.

For all the bitching about the defense...I cannot forget this..we were among the absolute worst defenses in all of CFB several times before he got here, and he is doing it with a bunch of guys that were not highly rated for playing defense in HS.

IIRC we were south of 115th in defense the year before Pruitt.
I agree I really don’t understand complaining about defense. Pruitt has greatly improved it and will correct the things that aren’t there yet.

Questioning the head coaching ability at this point is understandable, but I think it can get corrected.

I agree with you 100%. The QB is the leader the guy who everyone looks up to. He touches the ball every play. Once he wilts the rest of the team is going to wilt. JG just isn't mentally strong enough to be an SEC starting QB.

Pruitt need do nothing more than watch the Bama vs UGA game from Saturday and realize that you can stack 5-stah upon 5-stah on defense and elite offenses will still score on you. Easily and often.

Right. But that is what Pruitt has said he wants from day one a tough hard nosed team who can run at will. Fulmer needs to have a talk with him sooner rather than later and make him realize that if he doesn't change he's not going to have a job.

Agreed. It reminds me of what Bielema wanted at Arkansas. You can't build that in the SEC if you aren't a recruiting powerhouse. And even then, those schools are moving away from it. As we saw, all it takes is a couple of turnovers and you're dead. You can't recover because your offense isn't built for the quick score.

Winner winner chicken dinner. This is what I see right now and it needs to change. This is one where Kirby got it right. That was his offense early and now he's changed somewhat. I just hope Pruitt figures it out as well.

Listening to the first hour of swain event. They made it sound like they did not pursue JT Daniels hard because of TY Simpson. Also alluding that Simpson was coming to UT.
This makes no sense. Don't pursue a Jr. QB because of a freshman in a class 2 years away. Also Pruitt isn't going to start a freshman stud in Bailey, but we are supposed to believe he will start Simpson? I call BS on this one

i mean, if you're JG and your goal is to play in the NFL (don't laugh), then you have to come back for the next year, because he needs a clean year - unless he can really turn it around and get drafted then he returns.

Why would you not take the free year.

Unbelievable. Might as well avert our eyes for the rest of this year and next.

Fine...tear him apart...call him a stupid idiot...

That only helps our enemies...it does nothing for us. We don't need him to make us elite, we need him to stabilize..eight straight wins is stabilizing considering where we were no matter what you think about the last six quarters.

You are entitled to tear him down as much as you want...go for it.
We are in the express lane for 3 maybe 4 wins. Hard to sell improvement in that situation.

Just out of curiosity when were you finally out on Butch?

I mean, he can come back, but he shouldn't see the field. If you can't get it done after 5 years it's time to move one, either by choice or by force.

JP just said the firing of the DL coach was a philosophical decision.
I can just imagine how it went down:

CJP: "Plato was right about his forms and no one can say otherwise!"

JB: "You're wrong Coach Pruitt! With all due respect, Aristotle had it right, each physical item is its own instance and not attached to perfect forms! Plato was a mental midget compared to Aristotle!! Fight me!"

:fisticuffs ensue:

:kids singing Rocky top in the background as the cops appear:
