JG is the starter against Bama (merged)

Losing winnable football games with poor personnel choices doesn't seem like the best way to insure you get the QB you want to sign.
Yea well, I'm not going to argue that. Just repeating what was said here (recruit thread I think)..

Just an observation...not a call-out.

I hope that is not the case. You win with who you have, not lose to get who you want.
Exactly, a variation on Pruitt's own mantra. "We worry about the ones we get, not the ones we don't...."

It is quite the anomaly.

Seems counterproductive. Kind of like signing a 4 or 5 star QB then not managing any practice time for him until week 7 of the season.

I think I've solved the mystery..

Pruitt and the players know we suck. So, he will not make a change in an effort to suck less or possibly suck much more. He will continue present course to suck as we are...... At least for the time being...

I'm kidding.....
I think.

He's not going to publicly throw him under the bus.

He will say Maurer/Bailey earned it by better practices, blah, blah, blah. Or he will let JG get creamed for a quarter against bama and then throw in the next man up.

I'm not sure how any of that makes me feel.

I'm going with apathy.

JG is an interception machine and not trusted to throw over the middle. I just don’t get it. What do they expect to accomplish with him? Even if the new guys screw up and lose, it isn’t like it would be any different with JG.
Bailey will still be alive?

Unfortunately, we've been fed the line that "JG has earned it in practice each week."
Right now I am not worried about his practice performance it is his game performance. He threw the dang interceptions and fumbled the ball at georgia. It is on geronimo. No one else.

Pruitt’s stubbornness will be his undoing. He hasn’t earned that right, yet. Saban can be stubborn. He has the collateral and the trust of his fans. Pruitt is losing support each and every series he trots that kid out there to take snaps. I just have no idea what it will take to change his mind, at this point.

I kind of see what he's saying. Bama's D will crush whoever is in there. JG already had enough rope to hang himself, and has, however , being a fanbase that is never satisfied with anything, HB awaits the same fate as a starter. Some of you won't quite understand why he also (fill in the blank fumbled, got sacked, threw interception). There will be b*ching about why HB couldn't get it done either. Just saying.. I too want a JG alternative.. I think best for HB is when Bama is in Mop up duty.

Also, he might just be being tactful with JG. (You are not on the shelf, but you are on the bench).. Who knows.

I have never ever wanted to hit a coach square in the face like I do right now. Not even Butch or Dooley.

Trotting JG out there for the Bama game is a loser move in my opinion. It tells the team that you've already basically conceded to Bama.

We have to put someone else in there for the Bama game. We can't just give up and concede defeat. We have to at least try to get another QB to inject life into this offense.

Maybe spotting Bama three defensive scores is Pruitt's way of telling the team he believes in their ability to come from behind...but probably not.
