The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

Minter was an absolute stud and I’ll never forget what he did in game 5. But we should have started Wright in Game 5 and made sure we kept the arms fresh. You could tell Minter and Martin were gassed last night and even then the homers were 8 pitch AB’s. We got greedy trying to end it in 5.

We had our chances. We just didn’t get it done. I have no problem starting Minter there. Tired to step on their throats and it just didn’t happen.

What is especially unfortunate about no minor leagues this past season, is we aren't sure what we have behind Riley coming up. I like Braden Shewmake a lot -- he might have been able to make it to AAA with a full season.

Thing is, I don't think we thought he would be forced to sign a one year deal last year either.

I'll go two years if that last one is a team option. But like we saw with Donaldson, AA will set a price and not move from it.
He’s just 30 tho. Perfect DH and no injury history like JD. I’d give him 4-5 years

Assuming keep the DH and return to 25 man roster:

C - TDA
1b - Freddie
2b - Ozzie
3b - Riley
SS - Dansby
RF - RAJ
CF - Pache
LF - Duvall
DH - ?
Bench - Willy, Camargo, ?

Rotation - Anderson, Fried, Soroka. Wright, Wilson
Bullpen - Touki, Webb, Matzek, O’Day, Minter, Martin, Smith, ?

Priorities - Resign Ozuna, LH platoon guy for Duvall and/or Riley, RH reliever, vet SP

Plenty of money to do it. Plenty.

I wouldn’t be totally surprised if they bring Hamels back simply because the Braves have seen his medical reports and others haven’t.
