My understanding is that is based on a limited number of snaps. And given how long we've been on quarantine lockdown, I can believe that. I don't think he's gotten a fair shot because of that.

Absolutely understandable in the short term. I’m just curious about the subtle rumors that they don’t believe in him long term...

A lot of you are going to disagree with this take, but Friend and Chaney are fine. The OL is fine. The quarterback position is the problem. JG is JG, but a backup should have been ready and none of them are. Put that on the QB coach.

Many are making Friend the scapegoat because we have criticized him from the beginning. All offseason up to two weeks ago this whole forum was spouting off about how we had a Top 5 OL which was stacked with blue chip players in the 2 deep. Multiple future draft picks. Our strongest position group on the whole team.

They have one bad game against one of the best defenses in the nation and suddenly the coach that built that group has to go? I don't buy it. They don't get much help from the RBs in pass protect, the QB doesn't consistently move in the pocket snd holds it, and the QB can't point out a blitz if the defense told him. We have to find a solution at QB. At this point, I think HB should take all the practice reps and take over. We take our lumps like we did Dobbs' freshman year and roll.

Aight, rant over. If you disagree that's cool, don't be a dick about it though.

Wouldn't have thought our DC would get fired. 23 points against UK is bad, but our QBs being so awful seems like the worse offense if we were going to fire someone.

Ranking of coach issues

Weinke - goes without saying
Pruitt - blame him for allowing this **** show to continue
Friend - his unit has allowed too many sacks.

CB - he's had a messed up fall "camp" due to the Rona. Its not the field issues.

Interesting that you and OrangeShade, who are agreeing with each other and defending each other, both used the phrase “to each his own” within a few posts of “each other”.

Now THAT’S a conspiracy theory.
If you’re paranoid.

YOU’RE NOT FOOLING ANYONE BASS!?!?

Agreed though, Weinke is our weakest link without question. He must be a hell of a recruiter though.

My question is why not shift protection assignments to the OL or RB? If QBs got so much on their plate and can’t do it well consistently enough. I know the NFL puts it on their C in most places.

pretty sure you’re just kidding , but to be clear, I’m defending him because his “far fetched” idea also crossed my mind as a way to explain pruitt’s seemingly head scratching decision... it’s not that I believe it happened that way, just a crazy thought. That’s it. Not worth arguing about.
