That’s just my opinion. JG played just like he did in 2018 vs GAST and BYU. If you were Pruitt and had a full year of film and experience with JG, would you need to see any more than the first half vs GAST to determine you may want to consider one of the back ups? Why wait until the gauntlet? Makes no sense to me.That he threw him into the UGA hoping he’d look bad. That’d absurd.
Giving the starting QB job to a true freshman in week 4 isn’t exactly waiting a long time. That’s just my opinion. JG played just like he did in 2018 vs GAST and BYU. First of all I agreed with your post outside of the misinformation. You telling ME to relax and calling me “Ms. Maurer” because I asked you to change it NICELY is ridiculous and absolutely childish. You posted false information on a KID based on hearsay man! When you twist the truth about something like that why WOULDN'T I “hung up” on things that aren’t the point?! Listen to yourself.
As for the rest of your post. You’re absolutely right. He did bring an energy that’s been missing and the team as a whole fed on it. Why Pruitt doesn’t want him on the field is beyond me.
There was the concussions last year and he battled depression and contemplated suicide at the beginning of 2020 (this is what I’ve been told, he’s publicly spoken about his depression).
He was a gamer last year and although he made mistakes, the offense came alive when he was out there. #2 came off the bench and played decently.
I think #2 is a basket case who can’t handle the pressure of overcoming in game adversity. He reverts to his poor mechanics and horrible decisions when adversity strikes in game.
The defensive ends are lining up wide and rushing deep. Our ends can’t defend, that’s what Georgia did and UK saw it. Why the hell can’t our staff see it? Why haven’t we adjusted? Why didn’t we line up with two TE’s and take that away from the D? Why didn’t we line up in and old I-strong out of the shotgun and make the defense change?
If I can see this and our coaches can’t then they need to go. I’m 48 year old former coach and the answers are so clear to me.
That wasn’t my point. My point was with the way JG was playing last year prior to week 4 why did he feel the need to wait until the gauntlet to make a change to said true freshman? The freshman that he had everyone convinced was just “bad”. We all know damn well if Maurer had played as bad as Pruitt was claiming he was vs UGA, we would have seen the last of him in THAT game. He had to wait until Maurer had a “bad” game to justify JG over him and it didn’t come until UK with Maurer coming off of injury.Giving the starting QB job to a true freshman in week 4 isn’t exactly waiting a long time.
Yeah, well that's not why I brought it up. I think most posters on here recognize that this was just some crazy ho but I laugh every time she pops up out of nowhere. It’s unfortunate that it followed HIM though. To this day one poster on here brings up his social media as a way to somehow discredit him.
Humm, sounds like coaches aren’t giving him a chance anymore, JMO. I’m beginning to wonder if they actually know what they are seeing or have a preconceived idea about who they want to play and stick to the script. Regardless, I am a BM fan and will keep watching every week for that moment they finally decide to call his number.
Bailey got 49 snaps in that scrimmage...but that’s immaterial to your point.Well it appears, jg has gotten all of the snaps or most all of them in practice, it was stated before Sat. game Bailey had only gotten 10 snaps all year and that was in a scrimmage the weekend before, so Maurer has got none, that only leaves two, Shrout and jg. And from the reports I have read jg has got 100% of snaps in practice with the ones. That is in no way how players are to compete for the qb job. It appears again qb position was not open for competition. And the whole team suffers from it.
which is why i said chaney deserves most of the heat along with JGHe’s admitted to the depression and the attempted suicide was mentioned by at least 30 people yesterday at the game. I hope it’s not true, I hope he’s being helped.
As far as the analysis of scheme and what the teams are doing to kill our offense it’s not speculation. You can see it plain as day if you watch the 2nd half Georgia or yesterday’s game. We aren’t doing anything schematically to help or stop it. No quick game, no double TE (except the scoring drive), no strong side formations.
meaning shrout has gotten none. shrout hasnt gotten anywhere near a fair shot in this....this yr or last yr.Well it appears, jg has gotten all of the snaps or most all of them in practice, it was stated before Sat. game Bailey had only gotten 10 snaps all year and that was in a scrimmage the weekend before, so Maurer has got none, that only leaves two, Shrout and jg. Even in his post game presser after UGA last year he was asked several times about BMs performance. He REFUSED to give him a compliment or commit and just said “I’ll have to look at the tape”. Yet in post game pressers where JG has had a bad game he continues to make excuses for him WITHOUT film and that STILL hasn’t changed.
The favoritism is transparent. He now has 3 years + of film and experience with JG making ALL the same mistakes that he CLAIMS he’s trying to avoid with the others and who do you think he WANTS to trot out there next week?
meaning shrout has gotten none. shrout hasnt gotten anywhere near a fair shot in this....this yr or last yr.
u cant say he doesnt because he hasnt been given the chance. u can say maurer doesnt because he hasNo he hasn't. He has not gotten a fair shot.
Nor will he. I already told you why.
Let's be honest, the way JG has played, EVERY QB including walk-ons should have gotten a shot. Even though Brian had a vastly greater impact than Shrout, he was still injured some.
Shrout doesn't have it. Doesn't change that your'e right about he not getting a fair shake.
But as long as his lady is attending school here he will be on the roster, so you never know...
I don't claim to know the answer. I don't think it's a balck and white, one thing or the other solution though unfortunately.. Most likely it's a combination of players not being as talented as we hoped, underdevelopment and coaching miscues.. Things are RARELY as cut and dried as they seem, no matter how much VolNation thinks it is.post his stats. keep in mind this is with ZERO first team reps. then post the other qbs: maurer and jg stats.....knowing they were the planned starters with first team reps. bet they're close!
Giving the starting QB job to a true freshman in week 4 isn’t exactly waiting a long time.
Ohhhhh! Now first team reps matter huh? But he practiced too lexkyvol! Isn’t that your argument to me just three days ago?post his stats. keep in mind this is with ZERO first team reps. then post the other qbs: maurer and jg stats.....knowing they were the planned starters with first team reps. bet they're close!
