GA will eat our lunch...

unless our defense can get to Bennett.
Currently watching GA vs AU. That QB is going to cut up our secondary.

Georgia has some tough matchups across the board. Their RBs are especially difficult to bring down. SEC 2020 is Bama-Georgia-Florida then everyone else but UT is just right outside that bubble right now. The offense is going to have to stay on the field and put up points for us to hang in there.

I've seen allot in this thread about Missouri being one of the worst teams we'll face this year. I won't in anyway try and suggest Missouri is a good team.

I will say they had the 5th ranked D (by yards) at the end of last year. They finished #2 against the Pass & #6 against the run.

I'm not 100% how many are returning starters (I think their 2 deep was plug'n play similar to ours), but Misery started 4 Sr DL with another Sr and a Jr in the 2-deep against us. Then of course Nick Bolton was a beast at LB & will be an early round draft pick.

Is 232yrds rushing against them not a win, regardless of their teams overall talent?

Of course GA finished #1 in total D and #1 against the run by a country mile while returning everyone.

Way to early over simplified prognosis -
If we get 1/2 - 2/3 that kind of rushing production & win the TO battle by 2, we've got a puncher's chance.

Lunch is a glass of ice water. The mutts can chew the ice.

We aren’t competing for the East with JG imo. Next week will answer all our questions though.
If we beat the hell outta Georgia I wouldn' bE surprised at all.. They are reaching for an identity, on the cuffs of finding confidence as a team.. Vols coordinators are fixing to exploit that **** and shut it down! So far we've been adjusting to teams game plans.. F*** that is the philosophy for next week in Athens.. Give them something consistent to fear early and often! It's almost magic how I know this, but just beleive.. This roster has names more impactful than jgs subpar games.. You Will see freshman maturing Into grown ass men next week vol fans! It's great to be a tennessee vol!

That's what we thought in 2004, as well...Week before UGA ran the defending national champions, LSU off the field in Athens. Then next week we go down there and win...Strange things happen...

If they play like they did today, they will most likely beat us, if they play like they did against Arkansas, we certainly have a really good shot at beating them.

I think the reality is Auburn is bad. Offensive line is terrible, no depth at RB at all, Bo Nix has awful happy feet. The D Line is really small and got manhandled by Georgia's line. We are significantly bigger than them, so we at least have a shot at stopping the run. Auburn's secondary is also terrible, they have 3 or 4 new starters back there and the only returning one got ejected. Bennett really hasn't been tested by a good secondary yet. Assuming Shamburger is healthy (though Theo did a nice job today), we should be okay back there, and will hopefully be able to load the box and make them beat us throwing.

I think we match up with them pretty well. JG needs to continue to take care of the ball, offensive line needs to be dominant again, defense needs to keep improving.

That sounds like a reasonable take. We're clearly moving in the right direction . Starting off like last year vs this year so far is a very good sign. We're gonna get there.

Pruitt seems to be confident....JG says this is one of the teams he dreams about playing...so we won't lack confidence. I have no idea how this game will go....but I hope for the best.

Once again, VN overreacting to one week. Vols can easily beat UGa and lose to Auburn...beat both...or anything in between. You really don’t know from week to week; especially this season.
I expect it to be very close. I would not be a bit suprised if the volunteers win

It is frustrating to constantly see qbs come in and perform right out of the gate. Meanwhile JG has played is 68 games and is still trying to learn the offense. Lol. Seriously, JG did play better today but is just limited physically in a lot of ways. Both Bennett and nix have much better athleticism than JG making it difficult to blitz them. They can use their legs to escape pressure and keep the play alive. JG just can’t do that
Laughable analysts.:D

I can't wait to play Texas A&M.............................the most overrated team in America year after year.
