2020 Presidential Race

We are a constitutional republic and a representative democracy. I’m not sure why some people on here have convinced themselves that the only type of democracy is a direct democracy.
We started out as only a 1/3 federal representative democracy. Heck I could say 1/4 with scotus. At best we are 2/4 now after an amendment.

There is no constitutional requirement that states operate under any democractic principals. Pretty much all do work that way now, but it's not required beyond the equal protection stuff.

I think you made up his argument for him because you couldn’t argue with his real one.

I don’t really argue with EL on rights , I basically laugh at anyone calling for our guns to be taken from us and complains about voters restrictions . You’ll find no sympathy from a lot of us because of that very reason .

Again, even if we don’t vote on every position in government, we ultimately elect the people who choose who fills those positions.

Can you show or provide a link to where Hunter receiving millions from a Russian was debunked or proven to be NOT TRUE by anyone. MSM doesn't report this to the public because they protect their own choice for POTUS.
Biden's son has gotten filthy rich off his daddy's VP stature and everyone knows that to be true except those dummies that continue to wear & slurp on Biden's jock strap around their faces so that they don't see the truth.
You know how to use the internet.

If you think a republic and a democracy or a constitution and a democracy are mutually exclusive, that’s your poor understanding.

EL’s point wasn’t about the electoral college or an amendment. His point was about the GOP trying to stay in power despite shrinking approval by making voting harder and/or less convenient.

It seems the balance of power in Texas is such that Governor Abbott is feeling pressure from both sides of the political spectrum. He also recently extended early voting and got sued by his own party.

Abbott keeps trying to gauge the wind direction, but his state is in a political cyclone so he just whips around and around making everyone hate him.

Fortunately for him it’s not a democracy so he doesn’t have to worry about accountability.

Let me know if you find any evidence of wrongdoing. As far as the money is concerned I'll wait anxiously for the indictments come down.
Like so many here loved to say: You've got him now.

But not by requirement. There is very little in the Consitution stopping a state from being a monarchy, or going to a lottery system or whatever else. Theocracy may be a stretch.

For the last 100th time ....I don't recall or remember anything about this or how it all happened. But I do have a book coming out that explains how it all went down. It sounds like Hillary coached him up pretty good.
Just like a POS that was in control of the FBI & doing criminal work under Obama and trying to save Obama's butt. If all else fails ... LIE LIE LIE and be sure to LIE some more about what u do know that actually went down..

The book is just "anecdotal" apparently in today's world; if it were treated as testimony under oath, you can almost bet a lot of multimillion dollar book deals would never have happened.

I mean they definitely included the freedom of speech, assembly, the press, right to petition, and right to bear arms as democratic hallmarks that would prevent one man rule. The constitution may not have told states how to set up their government, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t expecting anyone to install a King.

I guess this idiot wants to run more people out of his state. He's doing a great job of it so far.

The influx of recipients and the outflow of taxpayers is going to be interesting if this idiot gets his way. He has singlehandedly diminished the collective Californian IQ, and that's quite an accomplishment when he's just one of several million.

You do realize that in order to obtain security clearance for literally anything, your background and debt history plays a major role right? You realize that being millions in debt would serve as the sole reason to deny a person this clearance? You do realize why people with large amounts of debt are viewed as a liability? You do realize that being millions in debt to foreign entities as the sitting President of a country is a major problem?

Security risks are the things that people want to hide. If a person's secret is out in the open, how do you blackmail him over it? I'd think the run of the mill congressional critter would have much more concern over a real personal fiscal accountability, but then it's likely the other 500+ of them would run cover for him because ....

Thanks for posting. Now, I'll have to find my magnifying glass to read all the very fine microscopic print.

Saying representative democracy isn't democracy is like saying vanilla ice cream isn't ice cream.

This is more like calling ice cream cake just ice cream. If only look at half the cake you are right, but in doing so you ignore reality.

You continuously ignore that we started out as 1/4 and are now just 2/4 representative democracy.

Going to 2/4ths was a terrible mistake in hindsight.

As a lifelong republican I could have gotten behind Tulsi, but the powers that be in the democratic party wouldn't give her the time of day.

OK. Exactly what do you mean by that remark? With 72 there's no doubt ... just in his wildest dreams. :D
