2020 Presidential Race

Tulsi and Yang were intriguing. It gets so old watching Presidential nominations get treated like a lifetime achievement awards.
I really like Yang for the fact he has multiple ideas on everything. Not sure how well it would work in our behemoth fed govt but he would definitely be able to hit the ground running

Bret Weinstein had a unique idea to pair Yang and McRaven as an independent ticket. Very interesting once he explained the concept

You know there is a very small part of me that wants O’Biden to win just to watch you all squirm having to defend him when he disappears for days at a time or when he’s dealing with a foreign leader he forgets and starts calling the person he’s dealing with Jill.

I would take Donald Trump over any one that your party has to offer up.

I'll mark you down as a possible Biden vote.:)

The xenophobia is strong with Donny, even when they're citizens

They should have flunked Omar and tried a second round of citizenship training because she was obviously too stupid to learn anything about the country on the first run through. Maybe the refugee citizenship course isn't the same that real immigrants get.

Would've liked to see Tulsi take a shot at Trump in a debate. The rest were more coherent than Biden but not sure they would do much better
Didnt mean the debates only. But the election itself.

I have said it before, it blows my mind that they wanted to get as far away from Trump as possible but they landed on the one candidate up there the most like Trump. Truly mind boggling.

Fine, just own it. It's just a shame that your GOP leaders profess to believe in democracy, but then do everything they can to make voting more difficult and burdensome. They know they can't win a fair fight.
These halfwits still think the United States hasn’t been a democracy this entire time. Then again, they also think health care is communism.

Uh. It took an amendment to get the senators to be a popular vote. And there is no popular vote requirement for the EC. Each state could set it's own EC rules. So that GAs EC always goes to the Republican and California always goes to the Democrats.

The popular vote is window dressing meant to distract and rile up the masses from the truth.

We aren’t talking about the popular vote, and none of that contradicts the USA being a democracy.

Then pass a law to get rid of the EC , or to ban the 2a as it stands now . I’ve heard the left and the majority of the country wants those two done away with . If we are a democracy it will be Easy Peasy .

If you think a republic and a democracy or a constitution and a democracy are mutually exclusive, that’s your poor understanding.

EL’s point wasn’t about the electoral college or an amendment. His point was about the GOP trying to stay in power despite shrinking approval by making voting harder and/or less convenient.

We are a democratic republic, you vote for representatives and not for actual laws/policies at the federal level. If we were a democracy we would have national referendums. This whole "we are a democracy" is a bill of goods that the political elite have been selling us for over a century to make us feel like we matter.

No it wasn’t , read what he said again , then google what system of government the US operates under .

You think that he would have hurt the anyone but Trump numbers that much?
There is some crossover appeal with moderate Republicans and Biden. That would not happen with the Bern. Plus, Bernie would have to get a very unreliable voting block (18-25ish) to come out in droves for him.

We are a constitutional republic and a representative democracy. I’m not sure why some people on here have convinced themselves that the only type of democracy is a direct democracy.

He said exactly what I was arguing and responding to.

And hence Madison's reference to mob rule
