You've picked out an exception where he had success primarily because Auburn had no answer for the 50/50 sideline throws. I'm not knocking that play. It worked and played into JG's skill set very well. He placed the ball where his guy could get it and used the sideline and receiver size to keep it away from their DB's. But again, that's the exception. The "rule" is much more akin to what we saw vs Vandy, IU, and USCe.He beat Auburn on the road. And will do it again this year. Say what you want, we'll be right in the thick of it with those teams you mentioned.
I would LOVE to see him improve. I would love to believe UT will be in it with those teams. But 1/7 on 3rd down, 0/2 in the RZ, and drive ending overthrows on what should be routine plays... won't get us there.
