Run blocking was poor

One of the two sacks was chandlers fault so that wouldn’t be included in this stat I don’t think
Run blocking was superb minus a true frosh struggling a little in his first college game. We could've ran for 400 yards right behind Trey all game.

We had 10 yards at half on the ground. The first drive of the second half was what the expectations should be of this line. This team needs to be a 175 yards a game type rushing team so no the OL run blocking wasn’t superd minus a freshmen OL that barely played

We have a 205lb back that's able to run through the hole untouched for the first 5 yards. Gray hurt us more by dancing behind the LOS. 2nd half we feed Ty, boom we are suddenly effective. Ty gets north and in a hurry.

Oh look more JG hating...

Here's the thing, I've been watching the Vols for nearly 3 decades, some of you I'm sure have watched even longer. Other than Peyton Manning & Casey Clausen can you really name a QB who wasn't having similar inconsistency issues? For whatever reason we've not historically put out elite passers.

Dobbs was a tremendous threat with his legs best we've had. Tee was a wildcard and helped do enough we won a championship, but he was hella inconsistent especially the senior season people completely forget about.

Bray, Ainge headcases...

Heath had one really solid season his junior year, but even that 2nd in Heisman voting season was sub 2400 yards passing with 25 TDs. (something Dobbs surpassed in his senior year here while also rushing for over 800)
Heath Shuler was SEC Player of the Year in 1993 because he headed an explosive offense that won games. Much more than simple passing numbers. You had 3 NFL talents at running back in Garner, Stewart and Hayden and Shuler kept defenses honest with his own wheels. Calling that season “solid” is either accidental or intentional discounting in liquid form.

WTF?

Vandy gave up 187 on the ground with just 2 sacks and 10 TFLs.

We gave up just 89 rushing with 4 sacks and 9 TFLs
Agree, but their DL alone caused FOUR fulmbles. I'm guessing that is weighted heavily. If landing on them is 50/50, that is an expected 2 turnovers from just a unit of 4 guys.

Just good reason not to make too much of one game. Causing 4 fumbles from one unit could be a concerted effort by them and credit to them...or it could just be good variance and TAMU rbs being terrible.

Give Ty the ball behind them biggins up front. Chandler was pounding it everytime for at least 5 or 6.
