Whatever became of Bituli, Warrior, and our other UDFA’s from this year?

I know Callaway is on the Saints active roster. DB and NW got cut but did they make a PS?

Proud of the resiliency this team showed tonight. There were moments I almost had a heart attack but you can tell the difference in the culture change. I believe if Butch was still coaching, we would’ve lost this game down the stretch. You can also tell we have some talented freshmen on the team. We obviously still have some things to work on and JG or whomever is playing QB will need to play with consistency but I’m proud that I can celebrate another VOL victory tonight and not have to worry about trash talking Muschamo. V...O...L...S, V-O-L-S, VOLS, Go VOLS Go! Godspeed.

This might not be a popular opinion, but I was as done with JG as anybody, so I feel fine saying it...

He looked like an actual QB tonight.

He went through his progressions well and always threw to an open man. Not a single ball thrown was in danger of being picked.

He looked confident and pretty poised.

Yes he overthrew some balls, but surprisingly, they were the passes that he usually hits. His deep balls were thrown where our WRs could catch and run. That is something I thought i’d never see from JG.

He consistently stepped up and moved in the pocket. He made SC blitzers miss multiple times. In the past he has been completely stone-footed in the pocket. Again, the pocket mobility and presents displayed tonight was something I thought I’d never see from JG.

Again - he overthrew some passes. But even NFL QBs and coaches talk about how in the first game of the year you see more overthrown balls than any other game. The adrenaline is pumping. JG has made some poor throws in his career, but usually it’s because they are late or underthrown. Not tonight. He was on time and throwing to the correct WRs, just a little too much juice. I don’t expect him to hit every throw, but his intermediate passing is usually much better, and the mistakes tonight can be fixed and - imo - explained away by first game of the year adrenaline.

The main thing for me is just how he looked in the pocket. His feet were moving. He was evading the initial rush. He looking steady and decisive in his progressions. He worked from one side of the field to the other multiple times. He even showed some scrambling ability for the first time in his career.

Was he perfect? No. But we can’t expect that if we want to be reasonable fans. We need him to be more consistent. We need him to hit those open guys on third downs. But honestly, the mistakes he made tonight are fixable.

Before tonight, I was certain JG did not have the natural instincts to be a good QB. I don’t feel that way anymore.

JG and company won. No complaints from me. If he takes care of the ball we can win with him.

Has anyone posted SC tears yet?? Really want to see some of those.

They are basically done with Muschump. Can’t fire him for 2 years because 12 million buyout. They think they are winning maybe 2-3 games at the most. They think we suck, but they suck worse. They don’t believe we are a top 25 team and won’t be at the end of the season. They think JG is the worst 4th year QB they’ve ever seen.

Should we tell em he's better as a 5th year?

Are you talking about the TO right before the punt? Go back and watch that again, I don’t think that was on Pruitt. Henry T was signaling the snap on that play and I don’t think they were supposed to snap it. He starts calling the signals and right before he reaches out to signal the snap, Pruitt jumps in with the TO in the nick of time. When the players go to the sideline, Pruitt points at Henry and clearly says, “What’s wrong with you?”

yea that’s the play I’m talking about but even with that said that’s on the HC. He should have calmly told the official to call a TO before the clock ran out or taken a delay of game. His unit wasn’t prepared to run the play clock all the way down. That’s a mistake and could have been a big one

There's about 4 or 5 passes that weren't complete last night that needed to be. The WR (outside of Brandon Johnson's insane catch) didn't help out JG much but still the throws were off. Hopefully we can work out the kinks next weeks. A lot of teams didn't look good yesterday and we are looking for improvement with a W instead of an L
