I think the OL issues tonight are almost entirely due to the weird offseason this year. We saw glimpses of what they’re capable of tonight. It should be a lot more obvious by week 3.
Yup outside of the penalties I thought they were really good! Could still use Pope's blocking and we all know Cade would be a gamechanger.

The Star will be better if we get Sham back. That was a Freshman playing in his first game against a solid slot receiver.
He definitely held his own out there and made some plays. I was a little surprised we didn’t move Bryce inside to the Star, insert Tank/Theo as the new safety, and keep George Jr and Alontae at corner? At the end of the day everything worked out. If Sham is out for more than one game, may need to consider options bc talent at the Slot vs opponents will only get better vs FL, UGA, and Bama.

A win is a win. Pruitt wins his first season opener at Tennessee!

However, we are not going to win any future games of significance going 2/12 on third downs.

Historically JG performs well statistically against USC and Missouri. After we play Missouri Saturday we need to plug in a new QB or just run the ball exclusively.

My infallible takes from the game:

1. The slow start thing for Pruitt is over. We won. Every team was sloppy to start the year. Gracious look at Ga.
2. I don’t think too much about the defense being sloppy tonight. Game one, and all that contact tracing had us out of sorts. We were also starting a freshman at star and had to move BT to safety. They’ll be fine.
3. We have some players at receiver. They were open all night.
4. RB and OLgonna be a strength when they settle in
5. JG is still bad. If he’s all we got, we aren’t gonna make as much noise as this team could with better play there
didn’t read past “infallible”
gives me ptsd

The play in the first half where The announcers said JG threw it over the wrong shoulder I thought it was an awful route. He stuck is left foot in the ground and then stayed looking to his left. I thought the mistake was on 80

What you got ?
Thought the same. The receiver juked the db to the left and then cut back to his right where the pass was thrown. Not sure why a receiver cuts back to the right but continues to look over his left shoulder.

My primary take from this game is Chaney called a poor game plan overall.

Just no consistency or reason to his play calls. Just multiple WTFs was that all night.

Hope JG can fix his overthrows and Chaney can clean up his play calling. Should do wonders for our Offense if that happens.
Not sure if I agree with this. What parts of the offensive play calling were you unhappy with?

Yep def have to do something. My guess is the coaches didn't have anyone else available that they trusted at safety. But it was a good learning experience for Slaughter

Agreed. But man you gotta love that fire lol, that one screen read I haven’t seen one of our linebackers come downhill that fast in a long time. Pretty sure his Jersey caught fire.

I do and I love it when he is in there but that one pulling off a players helmet is a immature thing he has got to learn to control. I want him to blow up and lead this team but you got to do it on the field. Hopefully this game will teach him that.

Thought he played a fairly solid game and protected the ball well...didn't see the dangerous throws we saw early last year from him.Threw a few dimes there on the last TD drive we had. But also threw high waaay too much. Luckily that is mechanical and not upstairs. Fix that and we might just have a steady, if unspectatuclar, hand at QB the rest of the way.

259 yards at 8.4 YPA, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs vs a Muschamp secondary is a nice start.
0 for 6 on third down.
