I feel like he lost the ball when he turned around. The ball looked to be in fine position to catch, but the turn made him lose it.

Just needs to play a lot smarter cause those were two dumb penalties that help keep SC in the game.

Only one of the two I really have a problem with. The first one he was playing hard and committed late. He even pulled up a little before contact but couldn't stop.
But the second was just plain dumb

It is frustrating watching JG. At times, he's very accurate, and when in rhythm he can't miss. Then other times, if his 1st option is not there, he tends to force it and throw's it to high. Other times the WR will be completely open and he'll miss him.

With all that said, I still think he gives us the best option to win.

Baron was setting the hell out of the Edge tonight as a true frosh. Excited to see him develop, you can see he belongs.

We will get much better on D next week and beyond. I trust the D. Offense needs work.

I wasn't sure what to make of the D's letdowns at times. We had pressure at times, but I know usc likes quick throws and they ripped us on some drives, especially Shi Smith. Hopefully that was just missing Sham, Tank, etc.

@HankHill what did you think of our defense or what Bobo adjusted to in the 2nd half?

I’m not saying it wasn’t catchable but it was supposed to go over the left shoulder not the right shoulder. He wasn’t supposed to have to turn his head back around.

Stick with me here guys, but Bruin has a fair point on JG making smart decisions with the ball really all night. He overthrew balls, particularly egregiously on third down, but he was going to the right guys.

A senior shouldn’t have jitters like that. Hopefully he can develop touch (maybe calm down?), but if he doesn’t I think we have enough pieces to win with or without him.

I think the inaccurate passes were a result of the pass rush usce got. I didn’t think our OL was good at all tonight


Now I do have one big criticism of JG and I thought he did a poor job after we got that last first down of managing the team and allowing them to get set and run a clean play. I blame him

Ty had over 6 1/2 yards a carry tonight.

I loved the drive we used him and tempo. I hope Chaney uses that tempo more, but the OL has to learn to get set too.

I think the OL issues tonight are almost entirely due to the weird offseason this year. We saw glimpses of what they’re capable of tonight. It should be a lot more obvious by week 3.

Lol thanks man. I’m not gonna lie i went nuts when I saw it was Holiday who recovered the fumble. I made a comment to my brother in law earlier in the game when JG over threw Jalin Hyatt that Hyatt didn’t need to be the first Frosh to touch the ball.

My primary take from this game is Chaney called a poor game plan overall.

Just no consistency or reason to his play calls. Just multiple WTFs was that all night.

Hope JG can fix his overthrows and Chaney can clean up his play calling. Should do wonders for our Offense if that happens.

Playing those quick hitters and getting some film will help the young guys read it better. I think Pruitt is really good at teaching defense so I'm sure they'll grow up a lot each week. I think JG will lose us a game and then get benched at some point.

Yep. Our defense changed late when Tank went to safety and then Bryce could rotate back down to corner. It allowed to leave the outside 1 on 1 and bracket shi in the slot.
