GS quoted this morning as saying the in conference transfer rule is appropriate

Not looking good boys

Fulmer may have to send some...uh, emissaries down Birmngham way to get this 'misunderstanding' straightened out.

Time for a gut check

I think we may be reading into it a little bit harshly. He’s probably stating that the rule is correctly written yet that doesn’t mean anything to that situation at hand. He may just be lauding the rule itself as being sound. (Not how I feel but whatever, they didn’t ask me.)

In a year where eligibility doesn’t count and the NCAA has ruled him eligible it doesn’t make since for the SEC to deny him.
And Sankey has come out & said something to that effect earlier on, if I’m not mistaken. He constantly refers to how the student athletes are the most important in this situation

I mean, I can see why they're hesitant. It sets a precedent for free agency in the SEC. That would not be good for the bottom dwellers. But I agree, bias aside this year should be a special case.

The circumstance should also come into play. He obviously had a good reason or the NCAA would not have cleared him. That circumstance should carry through.

The one time transfer rule will pass eventually (possibly next year) it’ll become the norm IMO

SIAP but major OOF here for Kirby and the boys in Athens.... Otis Reese by the way. Doubt a kid would lie about this just for eligibility but either way the fact it names Kirby directly and calls him out directly doesn’t paint the best picture for UGA. Granted some of what is said is out of Kirby’s control such as students mocking and police issues.

As this gets out to more and more recruits they will be making 50th anniversary patches for that Natty. #1980

It would be horrid PR. Not that they care

Agree--- the thing is I think they have to look at the particular case and realize he couldn't stay there... so why should he then be forced to go play out of conference instead of playing for literally his home town school where his family lives and brother plays? That just looks like 'ish....

under this logic no rules would apply.

The year not counting toward eligibility doesn’t matter. If a championship is being played for rules must apply.
