The fastest current/future Vols

This kind of foot speed on offense is what Tennessee has been missing the last decade almost. Alabama has had it. That has been their advantage over most teams in recent years, guys that catch a 10 Yd pass and go 70 with it.

I interpreted it to be the spirited joking that takes place between competitive friends.
Even then... he could actually believe he'd outrun Gray. He did come in fast... I don't know how fast he is now though. Hardesty was very fast in HS but was slowed by gaining weight and knee injuries.

Things do change but as I pointed out coming out of HS Chandler could claim not just a faster but a much faster 100m time.

There's no way to know. It's not worth an analysis

All those times are without pads. Putting on the pads slows some down and others not so much. Jerry Rice was a 4.6 but no one EVER caught him from behind

Willie Gault say heeeeeeeeeeyyyyy!
Gault could probably run a 4.4-4.5 today. He held the best time in the world for the 100 3-4 years ago. I think Sam Graddy won the Silver in the 1984 Olympics. He also was pretty fast for his time.

Jalin's speed is Rocket Ismail type speed............never seen a person that fast on a football field.

Hard to believe that was 30 years ago. He was the type of player you had to keep boxed in and you couldn't play tag too long otherwise it spelled trouble.

Guys that can actually run a 4.50 accurately timed 40 yard sprint are not easily found. Guys that weigh over 200 pounds that can run a true accurately timed 4.50 are even fewer and farther between. We've had this discussion in other threads but running a 40 in an accurately timed 4.50 is blazing fast. Many high schools don't have one that can do it.
Was a RB at SHHS back in McClanahan days that was that big. Ran a 4.5. Dude was one of best tailbacks ive seen at Science Hill. Always wondered why he never got offers.

Willie Gault was the fastest Vol to ever suit up.. 9.8 in 100 meters fast, world class speed. I remember Dale Carter returning punts back in the day, seemed like he could quickly get into a gear nobody else on the field had and.. he gone. Not sure his 40 time or 100 meters. CP was really fast when he got up to full speed.
