It's called progress and you can't stop it. Just take a look at football----players are bigger, stronger and faster every year. You can't stop that either. If the powers that be don't like what's happening in the game, make changes to the course to slow it down. If 6 inch rough doesn't slow them down, make it 9 inches.
There was only one player under par, so pretty sure it slowed them down...Dechambeau just had a great week. A lot was made of him and Wolfe missing fairways, but the only day he was really spraying it into the thick stuff was Saturday. Wolfe technically "missed" a lot but he was mostly just in that intermediate fringe so it went as missed fairways...also they both got really lucky with good lies a few times.

BD just really played a great overall tournament, and I don't Iike people trying to take away from that.

Not sure I like where golf is going. Wolf had hit the least number of fairways for a 54 hole leader at the US Open. They called it “bomb and gouge,” and DeChambeau does the same thing. I think equipment rules have to be coming in the next few years.

One player under par for the tourney. 2nd place was +5. And BD was the only player to shoot under par on Sunday.

I saw this as more of a historical performance by DeChambeau than equipment advances for the field.

I agree. They need to regulate the ball. The added length not only hurts the way the game is played but makes some great courses obsolete if they can’t lengthen. And, even if they can lengthen the course, think about the cost and environmental impact.
Baseball has done a good job with this over the years. Pros have continued to use wood bats with force excellent technique and great contact and they have adjusted the mound to help batters over the years. Golf should definitely be a game of accuracy and shot shaping that benefits from distance. Not the other way around. However BD wasn’t even the longest hitter (I think 7th) and he was T26 for fairways hit which is not that poor (tiger won at T30 at Torrey pines). Also winged foot doesn’t really reward clubbing down off the tee. Guys were still missing fairways with their woods and irons consistently. Honestly I just don’t like the course. Also the members are rich pricks lol

I wonder how much of Pruitts frustration with the DL was caused by having to go up against our OL?
Hopefully that's a big part of it, but I think there is a lack of talent on the DLine. We have experience and some older players, but we are waiting for a Henry T or a Bryce Thompson of the DL to emerge.

On testing game week

You gotta be kidding me??? We all know what this means...certain teams will not have starters and significant contributors test positive ever, while certain teams will have major players test positive especially when the first set of teams face the 2nd set of teams. Put your cups on...we will get screwed over again.

Game week, morans. Past time for the likes of @Bassmaster_Vol and @chargervol to join the party.
