The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I've shot one a few times, heavy is definitely accurate... hopefully this a gun that will get most of the places it needs to go in a utv or a golf cart.
I went to a quail hunt in Albany, GA where we had porters who worked the dogs, drove us around in a wagon, mixed our whiskey drinks, loaded our guns, and got us down and positioned us when the dogs got on point. That was OU situation appropriate.

Are those all the same grade? I wonder which is the most rare? 11R Riot Special? 11F Premier Grade? Maybe the 11E Expert Grade?
Not really sure on the Grade.
I should probably look into that.

The 1932 was purchased by my grandfather (Mothers side) at the company store at a Kentucky coal mine company. It’s a 12ga with choke

The 1941 I picked up from a cousin of my wife who was selling the estate. 16ga

The 1943 is the us military riot gun in 12ga. Bought at a pawn shop for 299$.

All in near perfect condition

I feel like the Expert Grade would be the rarest, since people willing to spend the extra coin would presumably just go for the premier. However, I do not know enough about those guns to know if the expert came with different features than the premier or if it was just cosmetic.

That's where you show up with a Ted Williams 12 gauge and just embarrass everyone.

Looks like I’ve got research to do.

I happen to have a copy of the 1947 Stoeger catalog. It looks like, if you bought any grade above Standard A or Riot B, you got an extra barrel. The Premier cost a good $100 more than the Expert, which was almost the price of a new Standard($94), so hopefully you got something good other than a little gold-chased engraving. There is some good explanation of what you got with the field grade and the different chokes. The same catalog has the Browning Automatic Shotguns and Savage 720s. Savage did not make a 20 gauge. You could get an American-made Grade 1 Browning Auto for 40 cents more than the Remington Standard, or a Belgian Browning Grade 1 for $9.90 more. The Savage Standard 720 was $87.95.

off subject but a standard Colt .45 Government model was $55 new.

I did find some explanation about what you'd get with the higher grades. It was in the section for Remington rifles.
