This was written in March bro. And it turns out that statistically, we now know that being under 70 puts you at a lower risk category and it goes lower as you get younger. To say nothing of the fact that the CDC just admitted >90% of COVID deaths had underlying conditions. Dying “of” and “with” COVID tell compellingly different stories. The link in the article to an anecdotal story about a family that suffered deaths from COVID as some sort of proof the statistical analysis was just plain laughable.

In other words, try again.

What is frustrating is that it was already known from looking at Italy stats in March that the age/existing conditions was going to be the statistically significant determining factors for who is impacted. Yet Cuomo sends people back into nursing homes in New York and then the stats for New York and Italy are used to shutdown the country?

Look at the data and explain how closing elementary schools in March made sense. We now know who was vulnerable and should have been targeted instead of a nationwide lockdown approach

Because you don't want kids to pick it it up, even if they're asymptomatic and likely won't get sick, and spread it to Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa. It's also smart to limit the exposure to it at the outset, especially when you can see what's happened in other countries that had it before we did.

The initial response was fine and understandable. What was then needed was for an adult to stand up and say we did it wrong and here's how we protect some but open it up to those who are not vulnerable. The vast majority will never get it or even know they had it.

Using this 3 degrees nonsense to justify cratering the economy is idiotic. Moms and dads with kids at home aren't getting sick. We know who is and who isn't going to get sick with this virus. Let's quit pretending it's about saving grandma. No other illness had ever been tracked in such a manner and no other should be

Shouldn’t that be the parents decision? My kids have been to the beach, pool, water park, pizza buffet..... travel baseball and soccer..... it’s ok to make choices that you feel are necessary for you.

Well I think in March it was about saving grandma and it still is today. Difference being we now know how to live our lives without killing grandma where as in March we didn't. All people need to do is wear a dang mask for the most part.

We knew very early who needed protecting and who didn't. The "it was March" line doesn't fly when the same ridiculous rules were being applied in May and June. Heck we're still hearing things need to be shut down. Insane

Except we don't even need masks. The fear is not backed by anything but feelings

I agree now, but in March/April no. We had to hunker down then because we had no idea how to combat it so the best practice was to keep everyone away from each other. Now as long as people wear masks when around one another I don't think there's an issue.

That’s not true at all..... virus has done what viruses do..... they run through the community...... people’s immune systems build up against and the virus starts to die out
