It sounds like Keon Johnson is one of the best freshman that has been in Knoxville in a long time. Kennedy Chandler will hopefully be able to get some other high ranked forwards to join the class with him.

Don’t be surprised if AD Phillip Fulmer doesn’t make a public statement about the situation in the coming days. Head coach Jeremy Pruitt has expressed his displeasure with the ruling. Obviously there has been a twitter campaign as well. One does wonder if the case would have been viewed differently if Mays were transferring to another conference. Conference commissioners have never been fans of transfers within the conference although everyone better get used to it as the one time transfer waiver is expected to pass next year. We spoke to a couple of people late in the week who expressed some optimism regarding winning an appeal so time will tell.
