I am all for discussion and having nice constructive chats on topics like this. Additionally I am on here talking about a friend of mine....someone I have worked with and respect a whole lot. I just don’t like the optics around the announcement and how it was made.
Do you think he might be trying to provoke highly paid coaches to do the same?

This would be huge for us. We have a massive senior class and a relatively small junior class. Lots of the seniors will move on, but you might convince senior DL like Butler, Bumphus, Williams and maybe an OL like Jahmir Johnson or Kennedy to stay. There are others.
Lol..Kennedy would be like an seventh year SR wouldn't he? He should have a masters degree or two by then..😁

He didn’t call an individual that. He made a comment about the Capitol lol I mean freedom of speech and all.... it’d be different to me if he was targeting someone but he wasn’t.

Once again, let's remember that the Constitution and Bill of Rights applies to government actions. Freedom of speech does not mean you can't be fired by a private employer for something you said, particularly in an "employment at will" state. Now if the employer was a government entity, like a public university, it would be different. But Fox Sports and the Cincinnati Reds can do what they want unless it is something specifically protected by statute.

And another witch gets burned at the stake..
Not a cancel culture advocate, but if he couldn’t hold that in around a hot mic? What HAVEN’T we heard over the years? Long time professional with a name and something to lose. Sounds like he knows he lost it. Child of the 70’s and 80’s myself, and you’d call your buddies that over any perceived slip-up. Anybody who’s ever seen Teen Wolf heard noted lib Michael J Fox deliver “I’m not a f**!” with extra mustard. It’s just a word you can’t use anymore and grownups adjust. Didn’t have any hate attached to it in most utterances then and don’t think Thom Brennaman gushed hate in this instance. Just professionals and knowing and better.

While true, JG is mentally fragile, so I don't think you go that route with his type of personality/mentality. You tell him you are 110% behind him and to go BALL THE EFF OUT.

He gets pulled the same in either scenario, but you can't have him focused on making mistakes. That's when he sits on routes too long, gets in his own head, and actually makes more mistakes. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

You have to release his mind. Just like "under pressure" and on 3rd downs. You have to get him out of his mind, whatever it takes. That's when he's at his best.

My argument exactly for the other QB’s!...could you imagine this kind of support towards your younger QB’s with higher upside?...Rolling JG out there year after year and the games he’s cost us is mind boggling and the only explanation I have is JP really thinks he has a decent draft stock and he’s trying to let him improve that this season.Personally he would have not played another down for me after bama.👀🤷🏽‍♂️

Pruitt’s about winning. He doesn’t tank the team for “draft stock”. Don’t bogard all the tin foil!

Bingo.

He was in his 4th year at UT when he pulled that stunt with Bama after plenty of starts. The IU bowl game was an absolute bottom feeder performance after a month to prepare. We had already seen enough through the years before those. He doesn't process what he sees on the field quickly enough or at all at times. He is inaccurate, cannot hit a swing pass if it was just to throw it in the ocean. He throws fast balls to targets 10 yards away. He is not a natural born leader. But it looks like CJP will start off laying his eggs in the yolk stained basket that failed him before in hopes that it will be different this time.

Harrison Bailey, stay warmed up and loose.

New flat screens for all my VN friends!

But come here behind a screen telling someone else their contributions aren’t enough ......

Just from a normal posters perspective on this forum. You’re barking up the wrong F**kin tree bub...unless you’ve given money to a random family’s child (Who you’ve never met) for their surgery in a matter of life or death then don’t speak on that mans name. He’s given out more Booster season tickets than Dolly Parton has ever given away to residents in Sevier county.Hes also given more behind the scene tours of the university than MTV Cribs has shown Celeb houses. Not to mention Those very same kids and veterans who have received these tickets are privileged Enough to meet the players and coaches.they also get to enjoy a once in a life time game day experience that some posters on here still rave about years later because he’s literally changed their lives along with their kids lives who became even bigger little vol fans for life.those are priceless moments that live forever,so that kind of disrespect is beyond pathetic.if anyone has an opinion on any matter concerning the university or AD taking a 15% pay cut considering the millions hes made off of the university for over 10 years, then it’s definitely going to be him.Especially if you add up all the time, effort and money he chips in every year for the university.

Atlanta ever cut UT a check for $1 mil? Fulmer did. When a million was worth a lot more.

Yea and with JG we’ve lost games that could have been easily won With a better QB.so you tell me what you think JP’s reasoning is Then?lol..do you honestly think JG is a winner? And if so show me where...what winner calls his own number on the goal line down 8 at bama and reaching over the offensive line without protecting the ball?..selfish players are not winners lol besides JP is a “players” coach and if JG has a small chance of getting drafted he will allow him to build that potential because it shows JP supporting his QB no matter how tough it may seem.

Just because JG completed a swing pass in PRACTICE, doesn't mean squat. He's always been good in practice. Let's see him do that in a game. Over and over, along with not staring down the primary until it's too late, or hit the WRs in stride, or not trip over his own feet in the pocket, or, or, or..... sorry, but just being honest.

Do I look like his financial advisor?... @Atlanta VOL they are wanting to know if you cut million dollar checks to the university👀🤷🏽‍♂️ But in my personal opinion between his father’s contributions and his own over the years..in total I’m sure it’s way over that.

JG may have never seen the field again if BM had not kept getting his head knocked around. And even with that, if Strout had a better understanding of what he was seeing on the field we wouldn't have seen JG again. I doubt Pruitt was thrilled at all with having to send JG back out there, but he could not afford not to try and salvage Season 2 after the hole they got in, with fans already wanting him fired. In the end, like it or not, JG was very instrumental in saving the season. Having said that, I have my fingers crossed that one of the young guys is ready to win the job Game 1, but the reality is Pruitt kept going back to JG because his options were limited at that position once BM got his head banged around.
