$100 says we see all the QB’s this fall. When was the last time we went an entire season without a backup needing to play meaningful minutes? And since our starter isn’t very good, and is on a short leash, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see Maurer, Shrout and Bailey early and often this fall.
$100? That’s all? You could afford more

Ah, he told season ticket holders in explanation of what is going on.

The man is a Tennessee legend. We haven't been good since he left. We wrongly fired him, humiliated him, and treated him like garbage. Even still, when we needed a new AD and it was obvious he was the right man for the job, we shunned him again and hired a loser in John Currie. Even still, Phil came in when Currie fell on his face and he saved the program. If it wasn't for Phil there's no telling where we would be right now.

Then he went out and hired a dang good football coach and every move he has made has been excellent thus far. I wouldn't care if they increased his salary. I'm certainly not going to criticize him for taking a 15% reduction in pay, especially when I don't know the fullness of what his job requires on a day to day basis. I just know I'm thankful he's in charge and I trust him fully.
Here here!!!

Based on? Not necessarily disagreeing, just curious as to what you are basing that on. A couple of throws in the SC game?

Only QB without an interception that played last year and I believe he has never been sacked? Could be wrong about that. However, he has the best arm out of all the QBs as well.

Pretty sure anything over 24,000 dollars is tax writeable.
I'm not exact on how all it works, but it had to do with season tickets, as quite a few were unhappy about it a couple years ago. Donors used to be able to deduct 80%, but no longer can deduct anything.

247 was talking about it earlier, because apparently UT set up a fund just for this year that would be a workaround...but only for people who forego their season tickets and don't take a refund.

For everyone: Also learned, because of covid, there is a temporary charitable contribution deduction specifically for standard deducters, but it is just $300 for single filers and $600 for joint filers. But...a little something for everyone. Good year to give stuff away! $30-$100 back on taxes ain't bad for cleaning out the garage for people that don't itemize.

My point is unless you tax deduct over $24,000 you are just getting a standard deduction no matter what.

His tax plan technically only benefits individuals who write off over $24,000

What does the scholarship limit go to if they allow this? 100?
I say it stays at 85. The ones that stay next year should already be graduated by then. They'll get free room and board, meals and all the other amenities that go with college football,, but not the scholarship...as they will have already graduated.

JMO...and a guess

Oh yes, of course. But to high end donors that donate the most and have costly mortgages and local taxes, medical, well...those are the ones that were unhappy with no longer having the deduction. All the rest never had the benefit, like you said. Or at least until this year.

We'll see how many take the bait and "donate" their tickets. It would be mighty generous of them.
