So nobody has been denied except Gibbs and Mays? Cool. I just wanted to know if I was missing someone that was denied.

Unless you are @LA Vol, you are just guessing on all this blaming.

And outside legal counsel for appeals is likely because appeals aren't merely reworded cases from the original. Appeals are a different territory 1) they are not handled by an NCAA staffer, but the LRC. So an entirely different group deciding and 2) they are required to have a letter of support from an authority outside of athletics, so likely beyond the depth of an athletic compliance department. Thus, outside counsel. It isn't because they are incapable, it is because they are smart enough to know they need a broader legal mind on hand.

but glad you are on the record saying that if mays only misses 5 games this compliance department can call this a success

Cumberland County had 29 new cases today, 15 old case recoveries, so net increase of 14 active cases. Your transmission rate as of today stands at 1.15. It's not the highest in the state. That would be Overton, a.k.a. Covid County, TN, which is whichever county has the highest transmission rate.

Kingsport went green today, Sullivan County.

The overall positivity rate today was 7.24% which is really good to be that low. Today the number of active cases in the state fell to the lowest level since July 25th but we've been trapped in a range for the last almost 4 weeks. I've been expecting the total number of active cases to consistently drop for some time now. It hasn't happened yet. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

But when you say you are taking a pay cut to help the university at a time like this, people are going to look to see how much you are actually helping to judge if it's for publicity, to get others to follow, or is really helping. Glad he is giving. Hope others follow his lead. Hope those that can afford more give the most if the university needs it. Preferably as quietly as possible.

I need a remedial course I guess. How is information “flaunting”? And most donors DONATE...point of the coined term. This was part of his salary.

The goal wasn't to save them a measly $45k. That amount is laughable by itself. That's not even worth a "PR move" haha. It was to push others to do the same. 15% of all the salaries, now that is worth something.

If he had kept quiet, nobody would know. Now everybody dang well knows where the bar is set for others.

I wonder how they count deaths from out of staters who die in TN hospitals. I know that most of the corona cases at Vandy are being brought in from both surrounding counties as well as counties from KY and AL, small counties that don't have the ability to deal with the virus. I wonder if the out of staters pass while at Vandy if they are counted as a TN death or are attributed to the state they came from? I ask because of the report that showed that there were way more nursing home deaths in NY than were original reported due to nursing home patients needing treatment being transported to a hospital and dying there, so were not counted as nursing home deaths.

The weird thing is that he is a psychology major. I know a lady who has her doctorate is psychology, but doesn’t practice and can’t leave her house because of Agoraphobia. Crazy!

Mays is AN UNDERGRAD SEC TRANSFER. No one has EVER done that before lol. It would be way beyond a success. Smh

Because whether the 15% comes off his base pay ($45,000) or full remuneration ($150,000), for someone that has made many millions over his life neither of those dollar amounts would produce a noticeable impact on his economic situation.

The move is, as I said, purely cosmetic, not doing too much to help the athletics department during what is going to be a very tough year fiscally.

I’m not upset about the cut, but it’s also not the kind of thing to be proud about either.
