Vanderbilt Players Opting Out per Chris Low

In this climate? Nada chance Mason is fired.
The only way any coach gets canned this season is for a comment he made 6 years ago, wearing a shirt with an unacceptable message ,being hurtful to a player or a similar action.

I don't see anyone getting let go for onfield performance this year.

Now what would you guys says if some of our best players decided to opt out this season over fear of the virus
Next man up!!!

I wouldn't like.

Unless it was a player who's health issues (T Smith) might predispose them to Covid-19 vulnerability, I certainly wouldn't agree with it.

IF the conference says "GO"...hold the season.
IF the University fields a team and a player "OPTS OUT"....does that player surrender his scholarship, and open a scholarship spot for someone who will play..??
This "opting out" when the team is going to be playing...looks a lot like quitting the team.
Football is a dangerous sport for all kinds of reasons besides a China virus that might cause a player to "opt out" to protect their health. Do those players keep their scholarship and prevent the team from acquiring someone willing to accept the inherent risks in college football..??

What am I missing..??

Vanderbilt is most likely going 0-10 this year, with or without them. They are really bad and continually getting worse.
AR will go 0-10 too. They are going to be a total rebuild from the ground up and will play like a good high school team this year.
