Sometimes it's a sacrifice we make today for the better future we may have tomorrow. Sometimes the sacrifice we make isn't just in our own self interest. I was a submariner in the Navy and while I was on a Fast Attack I had buddies serving on "boomers", ballistic missile subs. Those guys would be out to sea under water, hiding really, for 3 months at a time, uninterrupted. Talk about being isolated.

Thank you for your service.

Like Fulton, Maryville recruits very well.

Sounds like sour grapes. And yet Alcoa still produces great teams and they're from the same county.

What you don't understand is that it's not the talent with Maryville, it's the knowledge of the system. Blount County is one of those few places where they have organized, financed midget football. On top of that Maryville helps the coaches and even let's them use practice fields. In return those coaches run the Maryville offense and defenses from those early years. By the time a kid gets to HS he's run that offense for 6 years and run it the way Maryville wants.

If you ever watch, Alcoa often sends more kids to D-1 scholarships than Maryville. Their problem is Maryville is so deep, Alcoa often has to play some kids both ways, it just wears Alcoa out late in the game.

Fair point, though according to chizzle, you might be gender confused.
If you consider your source, you will quickly realize your error. 😁

Never considered playing for the other team.
Have always known which direction my compass needle points! 🤠

Became a male high school cheerleader because the Captain of the Cheerleader squad (that I had a huge crush on) asked me to join the squad.

Of course if she had asked me to jump off the school gymnasium roof, I would have said yes just as quickly. 😂

Once I said yes, I realized that two of my good friends were laughing at me. I had been making fun of them because they were already on the squad. Gary knew how big a crush I had on Amy, so he told her to ask me. Best decision of high school. I got to pick up the most beautiful girls in my school every day (literally).

Not sour grapes. I'm a Fulton graduate. They have a great coaching staff and great youth feeder programs. They also recruit well. Like Maryville, Catholic, Alcoa and I could name a lot more.

Ahhh, every girl likes a happy ending. 🙂

He was never your friend. He uses people. That's what he does best. That's all he has left in life. He's such a loser.....wait, who are we talking about again?

Dang, after all those times I took up for you during the Dark Ages. They had the stake already set up to burn you...had BB carved in it and everything... 🤔

Second best part of the past 48/72-ish hours (days run together) on here - finding out @VolsDoc81TX was a meerleader. Never would have guessed it.

It was a great experience.

Back then none of the athletes worked out in the Summer. I spent all Summer lifting 110-140 lb. girls and being the base of pyramids, Football Coach wouldn’t let us use the weight room unless we proved that we could lift. Pound for pound we were stronger than the football players. It so pissed him off when I could bench and squat as much as his linemen. 😳 After that, the football team had our backs.

It was glorious for a previously shy introverted kid. Hell, I was voted “Most School Spirited” GUY, yes GUY ya morans. 😂

My 13-YO nephew is undergoing his second MRI of the day in about 10 minutes. Little man has two tumors. One wrapped around his cervical spine and the other is at the base of his brain. Both believed to be malignant. They are interfering with production or flow of spinal fluid and he’s been feeling numbness, which was the symptom that brought him in today.

He had brain surgery when he was 2 to remove a tumor and now this. Needless to say my brother and SIL are deeply distraught right now. Surgery in morning. Please pray for “immeasurably more” for he and his family. I’m shook.

That’s awful for him and your whole family. He and you all will be added to my prayers. Look up, he has this. I believe that.
