Trey Smith speaks...We want to play

Why do people think they are going to wake up one day and magically the virus is gone? Even Fauci said last week they are hoping for a vaccine that works 75/80 percent of the time but 50% is more real. So if you want to play, play if not opt out. NCAA should increase number of scholarships for a couple of years allow for opt outs.

You assume that VN ppl are thinking. Most are not especially those that are gung-ho, play-at-all costs stupid.

didn't you hear? We are going to have a vaccine in 2021 and everyone will be cured. We just all need to stay indoors until then.

Please do us all a favor and you go try. I’d love to see the results .
Serious question...why do some respond to this type of post? CLEARLY that statement is meant to incite and anger. Maybe its just me but there are a handful of posters here that I generally skip over (I havent blocked anyone yet) and NEVER respond to them. As the ole saying goes..."When you wrestle with a pig you both get dirty...but the pig doesn't mind"....

That tells you all you need to know about this young man. He knows he’s high risk considering his medical history and still wants to play for the pure enjoyment of the game. Meanwhile, you got guys turning down millions of dollars in the NFL to opt out this season.

If you already have millions, that becomes an easier decision.

It’s Soviet, so (whispered) side effects include rampant uncontrollable alcoholism and violent Mafia level criminal impulses.

As much as I want to watch him play football some more for the Vols, I think he wants to play football for the Vols more.

Think of all the players that won’t get to run thru the T ever again if the season is cancelled or postponed until spring.

It’s really kind of sad.

Me and mine can find other amazing activities to do together, but some of the VFL’s might have already played their last competitive football for the rest of their lives. That doesn’t seem fair or right.

What’s sad is 160k deaths in the U.S. Many of which could have been prevented. Not getting to run through the T again falls under the disappointment category.

I feel perspective is getting lost. I know we want football, but geez. Throwing together 22 heavily aspirating individuals during a pandemic is pretty irresponsible. And it’s not just the health of the players that’s an issue. My kids are 4 and their schools are closed.

I feel like the eyes of the country and even the world are on us about the decision to play collegiate contact sports in the SEC, but I feel like we’re going to act more like Desantis than Fauci.

It's this stupid phone😂. I used to go back carefully and fix the misspelled words, but some grammar nazi had a fit on me in here one night. It was so funny that I don't anymore just to trigger them😂. My old phone I use occasionally will autocorrect, but not this one.
Did Rusty just admit he has a burner phone?
GBO!!

Good for him. Now he can sit out without risk until the 2021 draft and go make his millions.
He’s unfortunately got 2 things working against him getting paid:
1) He’s playing Guard
2) Questions about a lung issue in the age of Covid.

A healthy season on the field could do wonders for him.

How about let’s use that noggin and read into what I’m saying.

Trey is telling you he wants to play football. It’s his life, his decision. Yet another individual is over there trying to tell him what is best for him. All this after Trey acknowledges the risk and says that he accepts it and has worked way to hard to not have a football season.

This country is messed up because people always want others to conform to what they want and their ideals on how to think and act. But, todays culture is conformist.....
So...again...

Joe has his opinion. Trey will do what he wants. And you have your opinion. I don't see the country falling apart because you each have an opinion.

You're brow-beating Joe as a conformist because his post and opinion didn't conform to your preferences. I guess you're what's wrong with the country?

3 Guards total have been picked in the 1st round the past 5 years. He may have done enough, but in my mind, he needs the snaps to take away as much apprehension as he can as far as health concerns.

He's not moving to OT or C, so he's stuck there.

The real truth of the matter is that no one on this forum has any deliberate medical info on TS present status much less his prognostication. Including me but if I'm him, I hope this season blows off no matter what he says in public.
