2020 Presidential Race

When Trump claimed we had all we needed, when we didn't. There was no way of doing a "good job".

Now tests are often 50% accurate, even if we were attempting to use them effectively.
I can believe that but that’s hardly on trump and more on these people we are suppose to trust 100%..... as for trumps quote..... not sure when he said it or really have any feelings about it but being up close and personal to getting the tests out to people..... I feel they have done a good job.

FDR should have never agreed to the partition of Europe. He should have demanded Stalin withdraw from eastern Europe or at the very least stop at the German Polish border. Germany would have surrendered without the Soviets destruction on Berlin.
Oh NOW I SEE. It's coming full circle now. What really upsets you is that Berlin was destroyed and thus the Nazi leadership as well.

FDR: Mr. Stalin will you please stop?
Stalin: Ok.

LMAO at actually believing this would be possible.

I wonder how the millions who lived free instead of under German occupation feel.
I wonder how the millions who were employed through his programs and able to feed their families feel.
You take the narrowest view. It's like saying General Neyland was a horrible coach and following up with:
Talk to the players who were kicked off of the team.
Talk to the assistant coaches who were fired.
Look at all the games he lost that he could have won.
Check with the players who got no playing time but were better than the ones actually playing.

Millions more people lived under communist oppression than lived free due to FDRs agreements with Stalin and refusal to deal with Mao.
An abuse of power is an abuse of power, regardless of the outcome. If Trumps EO ends up feeding families will you give him the same credit?

@luthervol

Oh I dunno, maybe invoke the Defense Production Act to produce the COVID tests that he claimed we already had. Which would have allowed for contact tracing and containment. But since he lied about "anyone who needs a test can get one", I guess he would have had to admit he lied.

But instead, here we find ourselves with off and on again partial shutdowns, while you steadfastly claim he could have done "nothing legally" to affect, one way or another.
Second most tests in the world isnt enough.....

He would have also had to create someone to actually do the tracing. And pulled that money from????

Everything I said he's done and has been reported on by multiple sources and probably exhaustively talked about in this forum. I know you know this and have seen examples. The fact that you refuse to even acknowledge it shows that you like to keep your head buried in the sand.

These guys only expect details from fellow posters on Volnation. When our POTUS still hasn't come up with any real plans to get us out of this mess, they don't expect him to "get specific" and frankly don't care if he contradicts himself five times in the same sentence and meanders off into any incredible lie he can muster.

When Trump comes up with the most left-wing ideas, they adopt them as their own.

If he turns around and supports the opposite idea a day later . . . well great, they were for that all along.

Each administration seems to be creeping toward this cult-like adoration of the president. The left was certainly this way with Obama, but even that pales in comparison to Cult 45.

There are almost no ideas left in the GOP since you can never guess where Trump will stand moment to moment, so it is best to avoid any stance. We now have the presidency of worthless memes and shouted THREE WORD SLOGANS! when we need leadership in a sure direction and I honestly don't care whether it is left or right at this point. Almost every recently elected Republican would be a better POTUS than Trump. I really don't get why they stand by him. The cost is too high.

Lincoln saved "the union" by shutting down the supreme court, threatening members of Congress with jail time, and generally doing whatever he wanted.

I think he was also the first time a war time draft was implemented. So it's a good thing you dont care about your rights.

So, we have enough tests, now that tracing is nearly impossible. But at the time, even though he lied about test availability , we couldn't have done it, because it would have cost money?

Yet, now he insists he can make money available with an Executive Order. Man.. I guess that still makes him an idiot either way.

Exactly how can Trump improve tracing?

Trump says he wouldn't urge Obama to resign if their roles were reversed during the COVID-19 disaster

President Donald Trump on Monday said he wouldn't have called for Barack Obama's resignation after over 160,000 people in the US died to the coronavirus.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump suggested he wouldn't blame Obama if he was leading the country through one of the worst pandemics in modern history.

"No, I wouldn't have done that," Trump said. "I think it's been amazing what we've been able to do."

There were 11 ebola cases and 1 U.S. death.

What was he supposed to do? The scientists and cdc aren't concerned with the actual implementation process they're just throwing out ideas

So, you are in the nothing he could have done camp?

The contention went from "where would the money come from?" To "what could he have done to improve tracing?"

Not worth my time to continue with these bad faith arguments, right now..

Maybe later, after I get some things done outside..

I absolutely must disagree with a couple of your examples. Lincoln (already been discussed 1000 times), FDR because he gave away eastern Europe to the Russians and was basically Stalin's bitch. Not to mention his unconscionable executive power grabs during the damn and leading up to the second WW.
So it's fine to disagree...as I said, this is all JMO. Doesn't mean we can't find some common ground on which to move forward.

LOL

Economy crashed because of the shutdowns he didn't order.
Not a damn thing he could do legally about the virus
Who and give some instances
Please give some hard examples
Pure LOL
More than his predecessors?
You really want to discuss pardons?
And the “crash” he refers to was when the DOW was still just shy of 20k.....

Except you're the one who brought up tracing. Maybe don't bring it up if you're not prepared to discuss it

If there was something he could have done you would just post instead of putting out a long winded post blaming me for even asking.

Can you institute contact tracing on a meaningful level and still protect individual rights? If not then you're just making stuff up
