Wow way to really back up your statement with reasonable pointsI'm not a freedom warrior that can list every form of firearm ever created, but I do know some things. This is exactly why they asked me about it. I'm not a "2a type", as in being condescending or a person that thinks one should own a grenade launcher.
Visit the 2A thread in the PUB forum and see how little GW posts about guns. Yeah, once upon a time there was theory that you don't talk about what you have, including guns, because it might make someone want to come over and try to steal it. There is some merit to that. However, I assume that everyone who posts here or anywhere else online understands that in the internet age communities are built based on information sharing. People who support 2A have just as much right, maybe even a duty, to build and strengthen their community as any other issue group. I don't think we're separated by any deep chasm of philosophical difference here, I just want to make sure that people who are pro-gun know that they're not alone and being pro-gun doesn't make you a dangerous extremist.I'm of the type that if one owns a gun(s), they shouldn't talk about it or broadcast it. Check Grey's statement a few posts up.
Yeah but having MK 19 would be so much fun. In the name of neighborhood security of course.Wow way to really back up your statement with reasonable points
Us “2a types” don’t think everyone should own a grenade launcher. They just recognize the intent of 2a is to not limit that right if they chose to do so. Such a tolerant statement by you Zep!

In fairness I think it was the anonymity he was addressing. There is a difference between being an avatar name online and going public as oneself.
Not making a judgement about either just saying I would agree there is a distinction.
Agree completely, except I have been tempted to shoot at a few fish that have gotten away.Once again, we agree on something. I am armed pretty much 24/7. I fall under HR 218; still an active LEO; and I have a Georgia WCL just to be on the safe side. But I always carry concealed when off duty, I'm careful to not "print", and there is nothing about my person (well, except for a Geissele ballcap which I am fond of), or emblazoned on my vehicle which gives any indication that I am or might be armed. I don't have a social media account, so no worries there. Being "invisible" is a good first step in effective self-defense, IMO.
As for me, I don't go looking for trouble, confrontations, or the "opportunity" to exercise my right to self-defense. Given the chance to walk away, I will. Thus, in the event that I have no other choice, it's to my advantage if you don't know I am armed until it's too late to do you any good. If it gets to that point, I'll take any advantage I can get, including the element of surprise.
If you wanted a fair fight, you should have brought a referee...
Both are correct, I think. I make no secret of the guns I own. I have, and do, use the 2A thread (and a host of other online firearms resource sites) to try to ensure that I have the right weapons, ammo, accoutrements, and philosophy when it comes to self-defense.
You also won't find any selfies of me being an Internet Commando out there anywhere. Worst I've done is post a few pics here, mainly of my AR's, when I get them set up the way I like. FYI, I've got a Colt 6933 as my go-to duty and HD AR now, and I am pretty proud of how it turned out.
I've also got enough 5.56 and .45 ammo to fight a small war, but you won't find any pics online of ammo boxes in my "Doomsday Closet".
GV, YV, DTH, ND40...to name a few, have been instrumental in helping me make the right decisions, and get the most bang (pun intended) out of my defense bucks.
I don't care if everyone here knows that I have guns and ammo. For starters, it could be done, but it would require some work on your part to figure out exactly who I am and where I am . Even then, timing is critical. I'm just far enough off the beaten path that you're going to have to make an effort to surprise me. Get it right, and who knows? Get it wrong, and we will speak fondly of you here in the days to come...
But aside from here, a couple of other gun-specific sites, my family, close friends, and obviously co-workers, I make an effort to not "advertise". This is Georgia, specifically "Lower Slower Georgia", and yes...I have responded to a call or three over the years where some oxygen thief kicked in a back door at 3 a.m. thinking they would make quick work of the occupant(s) and then make off with their guns (or whatever)...only to end up serving as a bloody, sometimes lifeless, and always dire warning to others who might have the same idea. It's a largely rural area where I live; neighbors watch out for one another; and if you pick the wrong door here...unlike on "Let's Make a Deal"...you had best have your affairs in order.
I like it here. I fit in.
So that's it. That's what I was saying. I'm not very complicated. I don't always say it right, but at least I always know what I mean. I think.
Y'all keep safe out there...
