Yes. Isolate the vulnerable, if they’re willing to be isolated. Everyone else lives. Survival rate is 99.98% for people under 75. It’s higher than that for people under 55. The flu is more deadly for people under the age of 40. And if the CDC is right and many times more have had it than we’ve tested, the survival rate is even higher. So yes. This isn’t smallpox. It isn’t the Black Plague. At worst, it’s a flu for the majority of people. The goal was to flatten the curve to stop overflow of hospitals. Not to stop all life until this goes away or a vaccine is developed.
Where’d you even get 99.98%?

Do you remember the day NY reported their highest daily death count? There were thousands of cases they counted as Covid deaths that they didn't even test. They said those people had symptoms consistent with Covid, and since they couldn't keep up with the testing demands, they would go ahead and count them.

The numbers are not accurate.
The numbers are probably worse than official counts if we just look at excess deaths.

So, six cases out of 150,000 were counted incorrectly? Or are you on the team that does the data collecting and therefore privy to behind-the-scenes info on this subject?

Because if you are just getting “information” from a tweet or some other kind of media-driven platform, then I’m not sure why it’s any more reliable from one outlet versus another.

If you are, however, part of the government team collecting and tabulating these numbers then I stand corrected.

I truly hope death numbers plummet soon and we can resume more normalcy and start arguing about JG vs Harrison Bailey, or whether Banks should be a LB or RB kind of thing. 👍
Banks needs to be a LB.

I think this is one of the biggest issues with the whole process. No numbers are exactly accurate but for states to blatantly skew them to get something for themselves is inexcusable. It is critical to make decisions and the people that are responsible need to be held accountable. I do think that they're still reasonably close, probably within 10%,but that's just a guess on my part.

I don't know about you folks but I haven't seen one story or stat this whole year from the CDC or major news networks showing the number of deaths from the flu this year at all. Usually by now those numbers are out there. It seems everything else vanished and just lumped into Covid numbers,

By the way, briefly ran into a gov't. employee at a Dollar General store near me the other day. he was being berated by some as he went in because he wasn't wearing a mask. He told me that he had a chronic medical condition that was worsened when wearing one(forgot what it was) but stated in his opinion and based on what he knew, that Americans better wake up and quit being led like sheep blinded by ignorance. These were his words.

What type of government employee may I ask.

Preliminary In-Season 2019-2020 Flu Burden Estimates

I was thinking the same thing. I have friend who are "gov't employees" (read: trash guys) and their opinion on medical situations are mostly meaningless to me :)

Right? Lol, just because someone is a “government employee” doesn’t mean they are privy to any special information. Also, there is a difference between a state employee and a federal employee. I don’t mean this in a bad way. It also, matters who you work around as either of those two types.

Also, what type of government employee says hey random person..... I’m a government employee.... lol
